  The food was all good. The Chicken Subz Panchmael was a bit different from what is on the menu at all the other Indian spots. Artichoke hearts & asparagus were tasty surprises in an Indian chicken dish.

  Shan-a-Punjab probably has our favorite goat curry in the Brookline area. It's what we always order for take out, along with their naan breads which are also very good. Their curry is rich in flavor and very comforting on a cold winter night. The Malai kofta is rich and creamy. However, there were multiple times that we discovered, only after we got home, that the order wasn't correct. Usually, one of the naan breads is missing. The bread isn't expensive but someone is always disappointed when they didn't get what they ordered. One time, I called to tell them and they weren't apologetic at all. So, check your order before you leave the restaurant. They did fix up the restaurant quite a bit from its previous state and is much nicer although it's never crowded, mostly take out.

  I could not have been more horrified at the state of meat served to us. We had ordered a mixed tandoori grill which came with uncooked chicken, overcooked lamb, shrimp that was too salty and a stale smelling kebab. They offered us a replacement but served us big chunks of chicken that were even more uncooked than the last ones. The only redeeming part of the food was rice. This is the second time when my dinner has ruined by this restaurant, I would not recommend this place unless the cook is replaced.

  We requested spicy dishes when we were asked. They were all on the bland side. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is okay. They are often out of duck.

  The restaurant’s interior is neat and there’s plenty of seats available. They have many orders for delivery, but my food came out within 20 minutes. Server has thick Indian accent, so a sign that food is authentic!! Server is nice and friendly. I ordered lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka, and mango lassi. Their mango lassi is refreshing and fresh. I can really taste the mango flavor in it. Chicken tikka was juicy and absolutely rich in spice. Condiments that came with it are flavorful but I doubt its needed. Lamb vindaloo sauce is rich and spicy. The lamb is perfectly cooked, it’s neither gamey nor chewy. Highly recommend this place!!
