* Scam transaction blunder, by 2 of 3 staff including the cashier during busy morning *
We ordered 2 mocha coffee and we were offered to have donuts for additional $1 each, so we chose a jelly donut and a pumpkin donut.
While we were waiting for our coffee to be made, we found out the receipt showed 3 donuts instead of 2, and, with less discount.
* They charged 3 donuts while we got 2 donuts in the bag.
1. One mysterious donut $1.99 was charged. (Specialty donut spider)
...scam 01.
2. And for 2 donuts we ordered at $1 each, it was only one discount of $1.69- $0.69,
3. the 2nd donut was charged at the full price of $1.69.scam 02.
This is a total of $1.99+$0.69=$2.68 plus tax plus scam charge.
When I complained to the kitchen staff, she oddly 'walked away' and got nervous. Then, the tall cashier, Michelle, took our receipt, without telling us how she would resolve it, still taking other people's orders.
Then she returned the original recept, without the refund, but simply circled the $1.99 charge, on the receipt, and said we would get $2.11 including the tax.
* She never gave us the refund receipt of of $2.11 or the correct amount of $2.68 plus tax. Scam 03.
She could have given the extra donut or gave us a cash or card refund receipt. NOTHING.
BUT!
There was no proof that we would get the refund. She looked away to serve other customers and never asked if that was all settled with us.
Even if she would refund the amount, she mentioned $2.11, the amount is still wrong as additional $0.69 plus tax should have been added in refund.
*** The following day, the incorrect amount was charged and posted on our credit card. No refund of any amount.
The whole situation is off-putting and making us wary of the suspicious transaction surrounding their odd behaviors.
It looked like they were charging $1.99, the mysterious donut we didn't order or received, to supplement a tip to themselves as many customers don't take the paper copy of the receipt. They should!!!
*** Now, we recalled the same thing probably occured once before us. The previous female customer before us was pissed with them for the donut charge, and she told the cashier to give her unwanted yet overcharged donut, to the next customer, that would be us, but the cashier would not apologize or hand out her donut she had paid for, while she was still waiting for her drink to be made, for next 5 more minutes.
This is why we are convinced that they knowingly charge additional items.
This is why we are alerting other customers in this review, for their suspicious acts.
Do not get into additional donut deals. Just get the drinks and check your receipt and do not step aside until you make sure they don't overcharge you.
*They would not correct their error we caught on.
***No apologies to us or to the previous female customer.
* 2 of them particularly actex weird. The tall cashier, and, the other short Latino woman with dark curly hair with hat on in the cooking area on the back left.
* The owner should monitor their behaviors and check the inventory of the overcharged specialty donuts. There might be more donuts left than actual sale counts the owner will find in transaction, or the scamming staff would steal those donuts we were overcharged for, to cover up their act by correcting the inventory of donuts.
That would be double theft.
We tried to report this incident to Dunkin customer service. But no one answers our 4 calls and each waiting time was over 35 min. Frustrating
And they hired the call center staff poorly trained, who could not comprehend calls with their poor English and poor phone signals with time lags (overseas call center).
I guess these branch staff figured out no one is going to watch or report their misconducts.
* Stay away from this messy operation.
* Very shady.
