A close friend saw Phantom Gourmet feature FETE and recommended it to me. After checking out the menu, I decided to make brunch reservations for Easter Sunday for a party of four.
I’ll admit—I didn’t call ahead to confirm accessibility. While I do have some mobility, I ended up walking up six flights of stairs to enter the restaurant before getting back into my wheelchair. That said, I do appreciate that Brian later assisted me with using the service elevator to exit to street level.
We were warmly greeted by the host, Brian, and shown to our table. I want to give a special shoutout to Isaam for his patience and professionalism while taking my Gen Z daughter’s order—he came back to our table three times without hesitation. Since it was our first visit, we appreciated his recommendation of the Caribbean Salmon Bowl, and it did not disappoint. The dish featured Cajun-spiced salmon over house rice with sautéed broccoli, pineapple salsa, avocado slices, sweet plantains, and a honey-lemon vinaigrette—absolutely delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned.
Other dishes at our table included the Jerk Chicken Bowl, Boulette (meatball) Bowl, FETE’s breakfast bagel sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese (served with tots and fresh fruit), Cinnamon Bun Pancakes, and mimosas. For an appetizer, we ordered buffalo chicken wings—even though they weren’t on the brunch menu, Isaam kindly accommodated our request. They were some of the best restaurant wings I’ve had: crispy with a flavorful, mild buffalo sauce.
Jamya later took over as our server and continued the excellent service—she was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed.
The overall vibe and music were great, and the portions were generous. My Gen Z daughter especially enjoyed her mimosa, and surprisingly, my partner had zero complaints about the food—which says a lot! From start to finish, the staff provided outstanding customer service.
We will definitely be back and highly recommend FETE if you’re looking for a Caribbean fusion restaurant.
Tip: If you can’t find street parking, consider the nearby LaFayette Hotel Garage.
