Previous reviews generally paint the picture pretty well The atmosphere is very cozy with a lovely view of the marina, including an outdoor seating area in the Summer months, it’s a pleasant reprieve from the hustle and bustle of downtown. The food quality in my handful of visits now has been consistently very good in my opinion, meets expectations for a fine dining restaurant. I’ve also had a few good cocktails as well. The primary complaint, unanimous from previous reviews, is the prices, which are probably universally 15-20% above board. Somewhat expected for a fine dining restaurant at a 5-star hotel in the heart of the City. That being said, I must say that I’ve never personally seen the restaurant busy, and almost certainly the prices are largely blame. Though to be fair, if you’re not staying in the hotel the restaurant is a bit difficult to come upon organically as it’s tucked away at the rear of the hotel and not on the Main Street. I’m no marketing exec, but even a modest price drop and some better advertising would seemingly be a great boon for business. I’ll certainly return for the occasional treat, as the food quality is consistent.

This waterfront restaurant offers fine dining and superior service. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I had the opportunity to come to the Sea Grille for Valentine's Day Weekend. They had a special menu, so unfortunately, I was not able to have the clam chowder. I did have the shrimp scampi, which was excellent, and I had the lobster for my entree. It was too chewy for me, but the manager was gracious enough to let me get a steak as a replacement. They also serve us champagne, and I got one long-stemmed red rose. The evening was really special, and I had the most amazing view from a window seat overlooking the waterfront. I would highly recommend eating at the Sea Grille. I came for breakfast and received the same superior service.

I had an excellent afternoon tea service at this restaurant! Certainly pricey, but expected for afternoon tea in Boston. Compared to the other two I’ve tried (BPL & Trifecta), this one is more expensive by a little and is the most filling, and is in my favorite space of the three. The tea quality is not terribly impressive, but that was within expectations. We both had the chai. I prefer round teacups instead of mugs. Of course, that doesn’t impact taste! Starting off, the service was very friendly and attentive. The dining space feels spacious and well-lit, cozy and welcoming. Other diners were not loud, making it comfortable for me and my partner to converse without being overwhelmed. Our waiter showed us the teas, gave us some time to choose & provided the scones and sugar cones in the meantime, then we gave our selection. The scones came warm and buttery. Probably my favorite scones compared to BPL and Trifecta! Also the savory cream in the sugar cones was yummy, serving to break up the butter of the scones. All the savory foods were good, except for the cucumber — I was underwhelmed by the bread, despite being very impressed by the bread for the other sandwiches. The lobster puff was my favorite, the chicken was my partner’s. The desserts were fantastic, outside of the shortbread cookie. The cookie was a touch dry, but I suppose that’s what the tea is for! The waitstaff were very diligent in offering hot water refills, which was kind of them (I prefer a stronger steep so I had to turn down the second offering of hot water). The pistachio cake was our favorite. The flavor was nutty, with a light texture that was enhanced by the mild sweetness of the pink cream. I would recommend coming to Rowes Wharf for the tea experience! My partner and I were satisfied after eating everything, unlike Trifecta where we left a bit hungry. Be prepared to drop $100+ per person, after tax and tip. It’s afternoon tea in Boston and nowadays, that’s the going rate.

Had the pleasure of dinning here was a large group in a private room. The staff were exceptional and the food was delicious. Recommend for private events and a night in the town.
