We were able to get reservations that day, so we were not sure. However, it was April in Boston. Drinks, appetizers, dinner, and service along with history. Every box was checked. Decent selection of cocktails. Amazing meatballs and ricotta (and we know Italian food). Dinner: we had the ahi tuna, and sea bass with lobster risotto.😋 Andres was our server...very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. Did you know they're located in a historic building?

Ok our server, Paola actually saved our night, if it wasn’t for her warm presence and attentive service we would not have stayed. She is a fabulous server and a pleasure to be around.
HOWEVER. The host at the front of the restaurant was probably the rudest service person I’ve had to interact with. This is an excellent restaurant with wonderful food on the boston harbor. It’s the last place I would expect to be treated so poorly. This older man with glasses was very disrespectful. My partner and I had a reservation and arrived 5 minutes early. We walked in after another couple and before a large party with no reservation. He saw us come in and attempted to serve the large party before us. Thankfully this lovely family reminded him that we were there first. He asked for the reservation name and when we told him he neither confirmed it nor asked us to hang tight. In fact, he didn’t look at us for the rest of our interaction. Instead he looked at his screen and didn’t update us as to what was going on. He literally said nothing at all. He proceeded to ask the big party if they had a reservation and when they said they did not, he told them to hang on for a moment and that he would be right with them. He looked around for any one else to talk to. A random guest came up to him to ask him about parking and he chatted with him for a while about the parking stipulations. He still had not updated us about our table. It wasn’t until another hostess came to the front that he handed her menus and she asked if there was a party of two, he even tell her the name we booked under. It was infuriating to watch this man give great service to every other party that came up to him and for him to barely look at us. It felt like discrimination to me and left a sour taste in my mouth. We planned to have a VERY nice dinner in a very nice restaurant. This man had to be polite to us for less than 15 minutes and couldn’t manage that. It’s ridiculous.
Again our waitress was a fantastic server and a very kind young woman. It would be hard to be sat a table that is already pissed but we were kind and polite to her and she was lovely and attentive. It saved our evening. The food was excellent and the drinks are top tier but watch out for this man

Great foods! Seafood meets American classics! Quality is top notch! Always listen to the specials there is always something worth getting! The calamari is a must order for sharing! Very large portion. The chopped salad is super light and refreshing also a large portion! Cocktails are always great! The lobster mac and cheese is creamy and super delicious. We went for a birthday and they even brought out red velvet cake to celebrate which was perfect texture and perfect to finsish off the meal!

We met for lunch at Chart House. Jenn was the friendly hostess who seated us away from the cold as we requested. Jenn was more than a hostess. She was the waitress and bartender and busboy. She was fantastic. We all had excellent meals. Both the lobster bisque and clam chowder were creamy and well seasoned. Perfect for the crappy day. The three entrees we had were a lobster roll, fish sandwich and a cobb salad.
The Chart House was generous with fresh lobster meat. The fish sandwich was nice and flaky. The presentation of salad was unique from any cobb salad I had ever seen. We ended the meal with the chocolate lava cake with heath bar pieces and ice cream. Our whole meal was delicious. Jenn was great. I highly recommend Chart House.
