I recently went to Shabu Zen for my birthday, everyone was a big fan. The food came out quick and the menu was very diverse and unique. This is one of the best hot pot restaurants in the Allston area, highly recommend!

We came in hoping for a memorable first experience, but it was forgettable for all the wrong reasons. The staff seemed to have no time to explain the menu, and our server essentially disappeared after the initial order. We never got drink refills or even the chance to order more food. To top it off, the portions even for the jumbo plates were surprisingly small for the price. Definitely didn't feel like a good value for the money..
