- AAAustinFeb 9, 20262.0I placed an online order for a Biggie Bag (around $8). The app didn’t give me any option to add sauce, so when I picked it up, I politely asked the employee for a BBQ sauce. She handed it to me without hesitation — great customer service, simple and easy. Immediately after, the manager confronted her in front of me for not charging me for the sauce. That was disappointing for a few reasons: If a customer is spending money on a meal, one sauce shouldn’t be treated like a major loss. Correcting or disciplining an employee should never happen in front of a customer. It’s unprofessional and undermines the employee. Charging for basic sauces in the first place feels excessive, especially when the app doesn’t even provide an option to add it during checkout. The employee did exactly what good customer service looks like — she solved a simple problem quickly and politely. The manager’s reaction was unnecessary and poorly handled. I hope leadership recognizes employees who try to do right by customers, instead of discouraging them.
