It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

    My wife and I visit restaurants every day for her lunch break. W visit WHATABURGER at least twice weekly spending anywhere in the range of $23.00 to $25.00 dollars. People visit restaurants as a choice to get out with family, friends, business matter etc. Most can stay at their home to eat, this is why customer service is so important. My wife and I went into this location on 02/28/2026 at 5.32 pm. We walked up to the counter and the young lady looked at us after a few minutes and spoke. " Do you all need to order", (why would you ask that, for what other reason would we be at the counter. She comes to the counter with a very unfriendly look and attitude on her face and just looked at us and not say a word, no how can I help you, what can I help you with today or thanks for coming to WHATABURGER. (Look at the tape, we both staired at each other and she never said anything until I ask her, are you ready to take our order. She stayed the whole time, dry unfriendly and no smile. We received no order number, no thank you your order will be right out or anything. I am making this clear for this reason. A business has only seconds to set the tone to win that customer over as a first impression. The customer at this point is having a customer service experience of making a decision to return or not. This is my opinion, if a person isn't train, why put them at the front to take orders, it doesn't take per seconds to teach a new, young or inexperienced retail worker on HOW TO SMILE. No one want to sit and try to enjoy their meal after a bad restaurant experience.

    1pm on a Friday afternoon and the lobby is closed? That doesn't provide good service. Whataburger can forget me ever coming back here.

    Got food after midnight, You guys need to change frying oil, fries tasted sour the oil you are using is old. You are poisoning your customer. Sandwich was cold and didn’t smell good tasted only like onion.
