Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Customers frequently reported excessively long wait times, often exceeding 20-30 minutes, even during non-peak hours.

I heard workers yelling in the back and it took quite a long time for my food to be made. I ordered the chicken strips sandwich and onion rings. The bread on my sandwich tasted burnt.

This review’s more service-focused. I have no quarrel with their food, though the manager who took my order (Nasha Burns) was very inappropriate and untoward with me and my friends from the first moment we walked through the door.
When I took my order first, of course I took my time because I haven’t eaten here in a while, she rushed me through the ordering process. Once I ordered a burger, in a jumble of words, “friesoronionrings?” I was taken aback but said nothing.
Once me and my friends sat down, one of them ordered a $2 grilled cheese. They came out with a patty-less burger with melted cheese. His bun wasn’t even toasted. When my friend promptly went back to propose a refund, after an argument ensued, he got a cash refund without the option to refund back onto his card.
Overall, not a friendly space to order fast food. If you know what you’re getting and hurry to get your order over with, great. If you order something basic and easy for them not to mess up, even better. Just don’t order anything too fancy and, believe me, they’ll treat you like family. Ifykyk

Food is okay, dining area is kept relatively clean, most staff is okay to deal with but the lady I have been having to deal with recently (Nasha) is absolutely horrible, always has a major attitude no matter how nice you are back, if you have any questions she gets pissy and extremely snappy. If you bring up any issues with your order she will argue with you and when you point out the actual facts of the matter she will tell you "I'm not arguing with you" and walk away at times. WORST OF ALL she is using someone else that works there to put on the receipt as the cashier so she dosnt get the complaints. Luckily I wrote down the name on her name tag so this wouldn't happen and I wouldn't accidently complained about the wrong person.
I walk in with a smile and try being as friendly as possible and that seems to upset her more than anything, I really do like Whataburger food, but I just can't continue coming here with service like this, especially with someone that is bad to the point I worry will put stuff in my food for spite over some of the most basic questions or concerns such as having the wrong things on a burger or not thoroughly cooked food.

Manager (Nasha Burns) was insanely rude from the minute I walked in with my 2 friends. she failed to mention to me that they were out of normal toast bread then I was handed a non grilled or toasted hamburger bun with melted cheese after I ordered a grilled cheese. she then proceeded to try and argue with me about her having told me they didnt have toast bread when I told her all I wanted was a refund. she didnt even wanna look at my food after all i said was "this is not a grilled cheese." She had told my friend who was behind me after I had walked to the drink station and he told me after I had already ordered. absolutely awful experience and my refund was given in cash, I wasnt even given the opportunity to have the money returned to my card.
Edit: just noticed she didnt even give me a receipt for my refund or offer me one.

This location still has pretty good food, but the wait time in the drive-thru has become a a real hassle. Waiting 10-15 minutes or more for just one combo alone has gotten pretty old now.
