Honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. Portions were solid for the price.

My family and I went to Dairy Queen in Opelousas a few weeks ago to get a couple of blizzards. One of the blizzards we were getting was an Oreo blizzard for my daughter’s birthday- which she likes extra Oreo topping. We don’t go the DQ often so it was a real treat for us all (or should have been). We ordered and asked for the additional Oreo. Got the blizzards, looked at the Oreo blizzard to find that the amount of the topping was about as much as it would be- if we ordered as normal. So we asked if there were extra toppings that was put in the Oreo the lady claimed yes- my wife moved the ice cream around, to find very little (should have taken a picture but didn’t). So we politely asked if we could purchase extra topping to add to the blizzard- to be met with the young girl (who was polite u might add) to say there was no way to charge for for extra toppings outside of the sale. As crazy as this was- we asked if we could purchase an additional blizzard but just get the Oreo, all to be met with the manager on duty, to rudely interject into the conversation and say- no we can’t do that. If you are ordering a blizzard you have to get the entire thing, in just the most rude dialog as if we had committed some type of crime because we asked for something that “couldn’t be done”.
So it was at that point, the money that we had already spent, we asked for the refund and gave the ice cream back- because of how the manager handled the situation. My point is- if we are asking just for a bit more topping and going to purchase a blizzard without the ice cream- it seems as though the DQ will be making a bit more money on me, simply because I’m asking for just the topping. And I’m not asking for a full cup- just enough to add to my daughter’s blizzard… this to me did not make much sense. Sad story because kids only turn 5 once… but we did go to Andy’s instead which we were met with a more friendly environment. So for this encounter alone with manager on duty- I won’t be coming back to this location. Choose your people wisely.
