The Nola FS property is one of our favorites to go to for weekends getaways and everything about the property is amazing…except for this 1st floor restaurant that really needs to get their….together. 1. Food: The pancakes: Box-made quality at best…actually that’s insulting to box made pancakes because those hit especially on a lazy morning; the pancakes here didnt. Chalky, chocolate chips that were big but unmelted and just thrown on top (IHOP could never), and we didn’t even get any syrup?? The Duck gumbo: It was decent, very rich as in I felt my arteries clog rich and not the close my eyes and smile rich. They give you the tiniest portion of rice ever and then when you ask for extra rice they charge you like $8 (can’t remember the exact number but you get the point) 2. Service: Our server looked like he hated to be there (coming from hospitality ourselves we know that look and have all been there) and there was only like 3 of them working a weekend brunch?? Like what? It doesn’t help that the lady manager struts around like she owns the place but then decides that instead of helping the severely understaffed servers and server assistants that she would pull them to the back at various points for god knows what and then nothing seemingly gets accomplished…And then strut some more around the restaurant…while everyone else is running around trying to get …. Done. 3. Service pt2. Did yall know that ihop has a really fast food output time? Well sure feels like it even when you’re there at 3am after a party haha but anyways food took 30 minutes to come out (trust me we timed it when the boredom hit), drinks (an aperol spritz and a iced latte) came out AFTER the food which mind you was already coming out super slow. Like huh?? We don’t even want to talk about drink quality; we ended up cleansing our palettes with proper drinks from the chandelier bar right outside. Terrible. There’s more I ramble on about but TLDR: Managers clearly suck, they would rather peacock around than bring on proper staffing amount or even just help where they can; especially the Latina lady. Staff def hate it there Food quality sucked, IHOP is a much better alternative or heck go support a local brunch joint. Food service takes a decade to come out and make sure your food order is right!
