The view is very nice right on the water. However, we are visiting from New England and we were very disappointed in the food especially for the prices. We had the oysters and gumbo and the oysters were exceptional and gumbo was good. However, the seafood platters were awful to the point we could not finish them. The fish was not catfish some unknown fish from china with no taster and dry. The stuffed shrimp were like previously frozen and unfortunately the stuffing was not the great stuffing from the oysters. Our other table guest had the shrimp Alfredo and they indicated they were did not like as it was under seasoned. I will not go back here again The service was sub par..nice young man who waited on us but long periods before checking in, did not clean table up after each course and forgot to deliver part of our order.

Stopped in for an eay lunch. Desmond was very attentive and nice, never forgot about us and was a great server. The atmosphere is really cool, the upstairs dining room has great views. We had the oyster po'boy, oyster bar trash, a side of red beans and rice, and started with the fire roasted oysters. By far the fire roasted oysters to start were the best part of the meal. The appetizer comes with six, I suggest ordering two. The only reason why I rated 4 stars for the food, the rice was a bit cold, I still ate it but nevertheless a bit cold.

Honestly as many times as I've eaten at this restaurant over the years I have to make some suggestions. Yes, I know it's a tourist restaurant. And I wanted so bad to give this restaurant a great review. Here's the main problem. 1). This restaurant is one flick of a match being a total grease fire. The silver paint on the walls shows old grease everywhere. The photo of the bridge on the wall has food splatter all along the bottom. Up high the venting has lent pulled up caked in grease. Just shear nastiness. Tables were left dirty. The restroom where the baby lays on the plastic fold down table had rust on the buckle and poop embedded in the plastic hings . What needs to be done. That restaurant needs everything pulled out. All it's furniture. Then de-greased and high pressure washed from top to bottom. Health department needs to oversee this cleaning. 2) We both ordered Redfish. There was so much salt on that fish it tasted like Russian dried salted fish. And I'm a hot sauce and seasoning man. That wasn't fit to eat. 3)I'll return and hopefully the management reads this post . I didnt write this to trash your restaurant. I wrote this to preserve an icon in Louisiana restaurant history.

An Unforgettable New Orleans Experience - Landry's Delivers on Every Level If you're looking for the perfect spot to celebrate, gather a crowd, or simply treat yourself to a spectacular meal in New Orleans, look no further than Landry's. Our group visit exceeded every expectation, and we're still talking about it. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional, attentive, warm, and professional without being overbearing. The staff had clearly mastered the art of hospitality, making our entire group feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of throughout the evening. What truly impressed us was how efficiently they handled our large group. Food arrived quickly and all at once, no awkward wait while half the table stares at empty plates. For anyone who's ever coordinated a big group dinner, you know how rare and refreshing that is. The private room was an absolute highlight. It gave our gathering an intimate, exclusive feel, perfect for conversation without the noise of a busy dining room. Whether you're celebrating a birthday, hosting a business dinner, or just want a special evening with friends, that private space elevates the whole experience. And the food? Outstanding. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor, exactly what you'd hope for from a New Orleans restaurant with a reputation to uphold. Landry's didn't just meet the bar; it set one. If you find yourself in New Orleans, do not miss Landry's. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is the kind of meal you'll be recommending to others, just like we are now. Highly, highly recommended. 🎉

I'm not sure how to even describe the experience that we had. First, upon checking in, we could tell the vibes were off but hey it was St. Pats so we didn't think too much of it. But after getting checked in and waiting a couple minutes (no problem waiting), we were "rushed" upstairs to be seated with another group. Then we were left at the top of the steps so that the host(?) could take care of an issue. When we were finally seated, there were (literally) dozens of dirty glasswares sitting around the tables and bar. Apparently they were "fully committed" and the bar wasn't open. Who closes a bar in NOLA, in the quarter, on St. Pats? Odd. After waiting for menus, then finally getting someone to take our order (just for drinks), after waiting now 20 minutes, never receiving drinks or even a water (all we got was a kids sprite), they asked if we were ready to place our food order. I told them we would wait until we had our drinks.....never came....we left cash on the table (for the drinks we never got) and left the building. We always have enjoyed our experience in the past (at all of their properties across the country) but this really left a bad taste with us moving forward. Luckily where we went after this more than made sure we had a great a great night.
