Don’t get the raw oysters! After having a very average meal, with mediocre service I was afflicted with food poisoning by the next morning. I had to fly home in a miserable state. I tried calling to speak to a manager that evening and was put on hold and after 12 minutes I finally hung up. Manager never took my call and the hostess never came back on the phone.
Day 3 of food poisoning. I called my doctor and said what was going on. He diagnosed me with Vibrius bacterial infection which can be fatal. He prescribed antibiotics. I tried calling the restaurant again with no success. No answer this time.
Day 5 of food poisoning. finally able to eat.
I am a Very fit middle aged male in excellent health. No wonder this can be fatal and has been for many in New Orleans this year.
I wish the restaurant could have at least talked with me.
Again…don’t get the raw oysters! I know raw sea food comes with a risk. But this was beyond what I ever imagined!
So, at the last minute, I tell my honey that I want to go to dinner at the RV Resort's restaurant we're staying at, but we find out it's closed on Tuesdays. He then asked, "Babe, is there anywhere else you'd like to go?" I responded to Landry's Seafood on Lake Pontchartrain. I'm very new to New Orleans, so finding good places to go out to is important to me. The first thing I want to say about my experience is our waitress, Ami. She explained to us that it was her FIRST DAY, asking us to bear with her if anything went wrong. I capitalize "first day" because Ami didn't do a good job waiting on us, she did a GREAT JOB!!! She was efficient, professional, attentive, responsive, and genuinely cared about how our food was. She served us with a smile and had a sweet aura about her. We were impressed with her and her service. You know how the staff leaves the check and lets you finish any last-minute eating or banter. She did that, so as we left, I stopped and personally thanked her, as she had made my first experience at Landry's very satisfying and awesome.
Okay, now on to the restaurant itself. It was clean, with no unusual odors (which are significant to me), and, due to hurricane storms and similar events, many places, including homes and businesses, are built on pilings, which means stairs to climb. I was happy to see that an elevator was available to use, as I struggle with mobility. We were escorted by staff to a seat by the window. We were also given the choice of outside dining. We chose the indoor window seat. Unfortunately, it was dark, so I didn't see anything but the outside deck on the other side of that window. The staff was busy delivering lots of food. Luckily, my honey (he's lived winters the last 12 years here) knew of and had enjoyed many visits to Landry's over the years. He told me we were lucky to be able to just walk in, as he'd seen long waits at this popular New Orleans eatery on the lake. Tonight, traffic was literally. We had a brief wait while they set up a larger party that had arrived before us.
So we ordered him a Margarita and I a lemonade. For starters
Starters included the REAL CRAB MEAT (the most I've tried is some mixture with little to no crab), Crab Cakes, and their delicious Corn & Crab Chowder soup. We also asked for bread. We decided to share the fried Seafood Platter with fish, shrimps, crab stuffed shrimp (I was a bit disappointed because I didn't taste or see any crab in the stuffing. It was like the usual crab cake mixture that I've gotten ordering "crab cakes"), fries, and onion strings. We added the fried oysters at a nominal cost.
ALL of the food was served hot, fresh, and very delicious, and we were stuffed. My only slight disappointment was the stuffed shrimp, as I stated above. I'd give our overall experience a 4.8-star rating, and I will return.

The people very kind, the food very good.
They hace crayons and games for the kids and special meals
We ordered beer, white vine and different dishes, everything was delicious.

Landry’s Seafood – Baton Rouge, LA
I walked into Landry’s expecting a pleasant seafood dinner to celebrate my birthday, but unfortunately, the experience was far from it. After standing at the host stand for over six minutes with no acknowledgment, I was finally seated. What followed set the tone for the rest of the evening—15 minutes passed as I watched other guests being greeted, served drinks, and attended to while I sat waiting for anyone to notice me.
Eventually, I had to advocate for myself just to get service. That’s when Jessica approached the table and mentioned she hadn’t realized this was her section. At first, she was friendly and apologetic, but the service quickly declined. Parts of our order were forgotten, our food arrived cold after an unusually long wait, and the overall attention to detail just wasn’t there.
To make matters worse, this was supposed to be a celebration. Mistakes happen, and I understand that everyone can have an off day—but when you’re paying for a dining experience, you expect at least the basics: prompt service, warm food, and a sense of care from the staff.
I spoke with two managers, Chris and Jarred, who both listened and offered apologies, but unfortunately, nothing improved after that. The lack of urgency or genuine effort to make things right was disappointing.
If you’re looking for long waits, cold food, and to be ignored until you have to flag someone down—this is the place for you. Otherwise, I’d recommend taking your appetite and your time elsewhere

Stopped here randomly on a mid-afternoon, hoping for some tasty seafood with a view. Had a short wait at the host stand for the rooftop and after several minutes we were greeted by a server and brought waters. 15 minutes later as we were about to walk out we had a different server finally come to the table and take our order. Another 15 before we got our one beer. 20 more for lukewarm soups and an appetizer. We watched our original server bus the entire rooftop alone while we waited for service. Our server was apologetic for the wait, but the restaurant was mostly empty the entire time we were there. The rooftop had great views and comfortable seats, but wasn’t worth paying $76 for two soups, an appetizer, and a beer with such slow service and mid food. Can’t say I recommend it, there’s far better seafood to be had in New Orleans.
