Our coffee is sourced locally from roasters with over 30 years of experience roasting their own blends. Café Beignet is proud to continue the tradition of serving Chicory Coffee, first introduced by the French to New Orleans when it was still a colony of France. Chicory is a plant that is roasted through a similar process as coffee beans. Coffee and chicory are grounded separately and then combined, resulting in a most unique taste. New Orleanians have developed a love for its bolder flavor and we hope you will too!
Since 1990, Café Beignet has four locations in the French Quarter with another on the way. Each of our locations offers something unique to its visitors, including live jazz, cocktails, outdoor seating (with pet friendly areas), and classic New Orleans dishes to complement our beignets.
With an abundance of local flavors, you will find only the best in food and drinks at Café Beignet!

We liked this place so much we ended up going twice on our trip to the French Quarter. Great decor..live music...fresh hot beignets that were so good. The omelets here are really good as well and they don't skimp on the toppings. Cajun potatoes were a great compliment to the omelets. They serve breakfast all day but have other foods like gumbo..sandwiches...jumbalaya...and a bar but we got there too late to try any of the drinks. There is a bathroom located inside the restaurant and outdoor seating If you prefer. Its right next to the museum of illusions and a large public parking lot. One of the easier places to get to near the French quarter.

Pet friendly, very courteous staff, fair prices for being on Canal Street, beautiful seating area, and of course, the food was amazing! Grabbed beignets and café mocha to go, was offered a Pup Cup for my sweet dog, and was on my way. Love this place!

Visited during a busy afternoon and was greeted by the bustling crowds, live music, and the scent of fresh beignets in the air. After ordering at the counter, you're handed a number and the food is delivered to your table—efficient despite the crowd. The beignets arrived hot, fluffy, and generously dusted with powdered sugar—classic and satisfying.
The live music added a festive touch and made the wait feel like part of the experience. Seating can be tight during peak hours, and the line moves slowly, so patience is key. Not the quietest spot, but perfect if you're looking for atmosphere and a taste of local flavor.
Would definitely return for the vibe and the beignets.

Definitely don’t come here if you want to be treated well. The girls at the coffee counter are some of the meanest & most rude girls I have ever talked to. The girls YELLED at me and started fighting with me when I asked super nicely to have my coffee remade. They were also extremely rude and stand offish from the start & don’t treat you like an human. All the employees are on their phones. It’s sad because this could be a great place but the workers are just awful & rude.

This was my first beignet if the NOLA trip and was pretty good. A little thick fluffy funnel cake bit is what it was but I had to try them to see whose in better. The waitress or bartender created a coffee for me with oat milk and foam and husband tried the bloody Mary. I'm not a tomato juice and spice type of person but he said it was pretty good. He also got the mulatta sandwich which was different with chopped olives. Normally I'm not a olive person but it was pretty good. It was very different but he liked it. I enjoyed the atmosphere, they had a guy singing and playing the guitar and harmonica so that was nice. They even had a few small bird flying in and out. That gave a cute aspect to the cafe. Overall it was a nice visit and I will compare to Cafe de Monte for sure.
