About

Cafe
Our coffee is sourced locally from roasters with over 30 years of experience roasting their own blends. Café Beignet is proud to continue the tradition of serving Chicory Coffee, first introduced by the French to New Orleans when it was still a colony of France. Chicory is a plant that is roasted through a similar process as coffee beans. Coffee and chicory are grounded separately and then combined, resulting in a most unique taste. New Orleanians have developed a love for its bolder flavor and we hope you will too! Since 1990, Café Beignet has four locations in the French Quarter with another on the way. Each of our locations offers something unique to its visitors, including live jazz, cocktails, outdoor seating (with pet friendly areas), and classic New Orleans dishes to complement our beignets. With an abundance of local flavors, you will find only the best in food and drinks at Café Beignet!

It is such a famous food that I came here to takeout from the morning. It tastes very similar to the bread in Korea. I was happy to eat food loved by many people. I want to come back here.

Omg idk why people are lying about these eggless beignets being better than Cafe du Monde. They most definitely are not. Also the service was absolutely terrible! I asked them for almond milk in my iced coffee, double checked with the lady, she told me it was tasted it and it was clearly whole milk. I was annoyed. Then had an attitude with me.

Service was really great and quick. Was a little confusing at first because you order your drink first and then order your meal at the cash register. We got our’s to go because we had a tour to make. Also very close to the RTA! Got the breakfast sandwich with a croissant and it was really great if you like a lot of egg, even I do but the meat is inside of the egg and they barely give you any bacon. I ate more than half of the sandwich, but here is the example of the egg.

Just arrived in New Orleans around 9:30 AM for my Carnival Cruise and decided to grab breakfast at Café Beignet Sheraton, conveniently located near the Marriott on Canal Street. The line stretched well outside the door a sure sign of popularity and high traffic among tourists and locals alike. While ordering, I was warned by the cashier that all foods are cooked on shared grills, meaning there’s cross-contact with shellfish and tree nuts. This is extremely important for anyone with food allergies. It’s concerning that the restaurant operates this way without visible warnings or signage something health inspectors should address for guest safety. Despite the allergy concerns, we decided to dine in and were pleasantly surprised by the flavor and portion sizes. Our order included: Western Omelette $13.49 Generous serving of eggs with ham, bell pepper, onion, and cheese. Served with grits and French bread. Nicely seasoned and hearty. Red Beans and Rice $12.49 Classic New Orleans flavor creamy, smoky, and satisfying. Grits $3.99 Smooth and buttery, paired well with the omelette. Beignets (3 per order) $4.75 Light, golden, and covered in powdered sugar a must-try indulgence. Small Coffee– $4.04 Balanced roast, great aroma, but slightly overpriced. Bottled Water (2)– $6.50 Total: $50.13 (including $4.87 tax) The atmosphere is lively but crowded. Seating is tight, and food is served in disposable bowls and utensils, which takes away a bit from the authentic New Orleans café experience. However, the outdoor patio area offers a charming setting with music and people-watching opportunities, perfect for soaking in the French Quarter vibe. Café Beignet delivers solid southern comfort food with great taste and fair portion sizes, but the cross-contamination risk for those with allergies is a serious drawback that should be disclosed more transparently. Prices are tourist-level, but the food quality holds up well for a quick breakfast spot in downtown New Orleans.
