Cafe
Our coffee is sourced locally from roasters with over 30 years of experience roasting their own blends. Café Beignet is proud to continue the tradition of serving Chicory Coffee, first introduced by the French to New Orleans when it was still a colony of France. Chicory is a plant that is roasted through a similar process as coffee beans. Coffee and chicory are grounded separately and then combined, resulting in a most unique taste. New Orleanians have developed a love for its bolder flavor and we hope you will too!
Since 1990, Café Beignet has four locations in the French Quarter with another on the way. Each of our locations offers something unique to its visitors, including live jazz, cocktails, outdoor seating (with pet friendly areas), and classic New Orleans dishes to complement our beignets.
With an abundance of local flavors, you will find only the best in food and drinks at Café Beignet!

During our recent vacation to New Orleans, we were incredibly excited to finally try authentic beignets! We made our way to this spot just outside the French Quarter with high expectations and couldn’t wait to see what all the buzz was about. The long wait actually had us even more excited — usually a great sign!
Unfortunately, when we finally received our order, the experience didn’t quite live up to the anticipation. The flavor itself was good, but the dough felt a bit undercooked and heavier than we expected, which took away from what we hoped would be that classic light, fluffy beignet experience.
While we loved the excitement leading up to the visit, this particular stop didn’t quite hit the mark for us, and we’d probably explore other options next time we’re in NOLA.

The very first day in New Orleans we stopped at Cafe Beignet on our way back to the hotel. Not only did we have great beignets, I had a delicious catfish poorboy sandwich and a latte. While we were in New Orleans I had beignets at two other places. Definitely not as good. Apparently, I showed my disappointment. On our last day, my daughter-in-law asked if I wanted to go back to Cafe Beignet for a last beignet. Of course, I said YES! Best in New Orleans! Yum!

What a great place! This was actually my first option, but the line was long, so I left. The place down the street only took cash, so I came back here and I’m so happy I did. There was no line when I returned, and they had several different beignet options. Of course, I stuck with the original, and they were really good.
I do wish the cashier had been a little friendlier and more welcoming, but to each their own, I guess. The food was good, the space felt nice after walking around, and I liked that they also have a bar if you want a drink while you’re there. I would definitely come back if I’m in town again. 😊🍩🍹

My second time coming was disappointing. The 2 girls behind the counter, the one taking out drink order seemed to think the customers need to be ordered what to do. Literally asked if we are getting drinks and then ordered us to place the order at the register. We get to the register and the girl there acted on auto pilot. She placed our order incorrectly no smile no personality. I’m very disappointed because the first time I came here a few months ago Customer Service was great and the atmosphere was A lot better we won’t be coming a third time.

The service staff is a MESS. They can't keep track of the orders and are all over the place. First of all, their frozen cappuccino machine was broken. We asked for iced mocha and they gave us a random one that was sitting around from another person's order instead of making fresh one for us. Then they FORGOT to bring out our beignets! They are supposed to take ~2min according to the cashier. We were waiting for over 30min (after another 15min in line) and so many other people after us were getting their beignets already. We had to follow up multiple times before they did anything about it. And it wasn't even good. Just go to Cafe du Monde and get MUCH better service with better beignets (cash-only business).
Only stars are for the live band, which was good and created a nice atmosphere.
