The woman working drive thru dropped my fries on the floor, looked around to see if anyone saw then bagged them and had the audacity to serve them. Guess what? You were seen. DISGUSTING. Do not eat here!!

I took time to write this review because it’s not something I do lightly. This Dairy Queen is, frankly, sad—there’s no other way to put it. It’s run by people who clearly don’t want to be there. The employees would rather answer text messages than smile or say hello. I’d even forgo the smile for a simple greeting, but the cashier merely stared at us, offering a weak grunt of acknowledgment when I said hello. The look on her face could only be described as disgust. She took our order, processed the payment, and then, like a spooky ghost, disappeared into the ether—no cups, no thank you, no “have a nice night.” At this point, I’d have accepted a middle finger just to confirm she wasn’t a soulless cyborg. The young man “cooking” the food did an adequate job with his one gloved hand and politically charged T-shirt. Don’t most places have a dress code? I’ve never worked at a Dairy Queen, but I’d imagine there’s a standard for how employees should dress. The young women handling the ice cream seemed, at the very least, mildly interested in performing their duties—as long as the next text message didn’t get in the way. Then there was our food, which sat under a heat lamp for what felt like an eternity while I feebly tried to get anyone’s attention. Finally, the woman handling the drive-thru—who, I admit, was the only person who seemed interested in doing her job properly—came to the rescue. Cold food and empty cups in hand, we retreated to a booth to consume our overpriced, cold chicken tenders. The thought of ordering ice cream crossed my mind, but I didn’t want to bother the “employees” any more than I already had. This visit earns one star because, at the very least, we were able to order and eventually received our food, albeit cold. This is a marginal improvement over last week’s attempt when we decided to leave rather than interrupt the dead-eyed cashier’s inner monologue about how much she hates the world and everyone in it. Cold food and colder attitudes: 1 out of 5 sad, spooky ghosts. 👻
