This was our first time at Doc Crow’s, and they did not disappoint. The photos and their website initially pulled me in, and I’m so glad they did because this spot ended up being perfect for our group of ten. They seated us with no issues, and the staff struck that ideal balance of polite, attentive, and just playful enough — they really knew how to read the room! A special shoutout to Jacob J., who was absolutely fantastic. He handled my husband’s jokes like a champ and somehow kept up with how thirsty our group was all night. Truly top-tier service! Now, the food… Southern cooking really is the BEST, and Doc Crow’s does it just like grandma used to. Our table ordered a little bit of everything — stuffed potato, blue point oysters, shrimp & grits, and the pork chops (do yourself a favor and get them DIPPED… it’s a staple for a reason). Every dish was spot-on. You probably won’t have any room left — maybe just the cracks (inside joke!) — but trust me, ask for the cookies to-go. OMG. Amazeballs! Huge thank you to Jacob for making our meal wonderful from start to finish!!!!!!! You were awesome! ~Cheers

We didn’t know what to expect just wanted bbq only stayed in town one night but ended up not only having dinner there but went back in the morning for breakfast. For dinner we got the combo platter to try it all. Usually fried chicken would have been my least favorite thing on a plate of bbq but the waiter recommended the hot fried chicken and it was amazing. All of the food was delicious and the staff was great. Breakfast the next morning was just as amazing unbelievable how good the food the staff and the atmosphere are kinda bummed we live so far away wish we had something like this near Toledo Oh. Highly recommend

Our waitress was great, and the food was even better. We stopped in to eat here at night so it wasn’t too busy. Our waiter was great and on point everything was on time. Food was hot and great will return soon. Also her suggestions on what I should get as a side was great.

I recently dned at Doc Crow’s during a visit to Louisville, largely because of its convenient location on Whiskey Row. Unfortunately, the location ended up being the only real highlight. The food did not live up to expectations or the elevated prices. My brisket sandwich was overly salty, and the bun was clearly not fresh, which took away from what should have been a standout dish. The jambalaya was equally disappointing and fell well short of being worth its cost in both flavor and quality. The service was also lacking. Our server appeared extremely busy, which noticeably impacted our experience. She seemed disengaged from our table and more focused on her other commitments, leaving us feeling like an afterthought. To make matters worse, we were seated in a back corner of the restaurant where the noise level was overwhelming, making conversation difficult. Overall, between the subpar food, inattentive service, and uncomfortable seating, the experience did not justify the price point. I would not return and cannot recommend Doc Crow’s based on this visit.

Not a place we would recommend to friends. Food was cold, under seasoned, and bland. Oyster Rockefeller smelled horrible. It was cold and the cheese in top was like chewing bubble gum. Greens and mac/cheese bland!! Smoked pork, fatty and cold. The only thing we enjoyed was bread pudding dessert. My smoked old fashioned drink was made wrong. When we walked in the bartender said she felt overwhelmed because we walked in with 4 others (not affiliated with us). She said she needed a moment to relax 🙄. Manager came by to take orders until she was able to calm herself to work. We visited on a Monday night btw, it was not very busy. For a town specializing in bourbon, the bartender must get those bourbon drinks right every time iMO. Especially an old fashioned. Would not visit again since there are so many options around to try. Visiting from Cincinnati.
