Italian Restaurant
ItalX, an avant-garde Italian restaurant, is now open for weekend lunch and dinner six days a week at City Center.
The restaurant is located at 160 West Main Street. The team draws inspiration from Italy’s emphasis on simple, fresh, quality ingredients and inspired hospitality in a warm and inviting space. A twist on traditional Italian fare, the menu will feature multiple scratch-made pastas, reimagined small plates, vegetarian and gluten-free offerings, and everyone’s favorite desserts. Popular Italian dishes will be reinvented with elegant presentation. ItalX’s bar program offers extensive Italian wines from all regions of ‘the Boot’ and an inventive cocktail list, backed by house-made ingredients and Italian liqueurs.

We started off with the polpette, then ordered the carbonara and cacio e pepe as entrees. Then, we finished off with the cannolis (which were to die for). We had one of these seats allowing us to enjoy the fresh air almost like an outdoor cafe The food and service was good overall. The menu was not the Americanized Italian found at most "Italian" restaurants in the US with the exception of the cannoli which were MUCH sweeter than is traditional. Worth a visit if you haven't tried it.

Everyone in our group really enjoyed their meals. I had the lasagna, which was very good, and we ordered the bruschetta appetizer, which was delicious. For dessert we had the tiramisu. It was good, but not the best I’ve had. The only recommendation I would make is to add more English descriptions on the menu. It took us a little time to fully understand what we were ordering, but thanks to Google and some pictures, everyone was able to find a meal they thought they would enjoy. The total price for four people, including tip, was a little over $400. But when it’s your daughter’s birthday and that’s where she wants to go, you make it happen.
