Not as fancy as I was led to believe. The food was good in my opinion but not anything extra special. The service was absolutely perfect, we didn’t even have to ask for stuff. She just knew what was needed. My husband didn’t like the food but he’s not big on fancy stuff. Not worth the prices in my opinion.

Every time I visit Kentucky I eat here. And every time I leave I’m sad that we don’t have this restaurant in my state. This food is seriously so delicious every time my family eats here we talk about it for DAYS. We are still talking about it and it’s been over a week. We eat the leftovers cold the next morning and they’re still ridiculously good. The espresso martinis are out of this world. Never take the bourbon bread pudding off the menu please, it was insane. The steaks are perfect. The burgers are delicious. Service is always top notch. Prices are incredibly reasonable. Literally everything is 10/10.

My hunny and I went to Carson's last night for dinner. The hostess were so kind and attentive. The (I believe) GM, Todd, was so accommodating and extremely kind and our server, Amelia, really did an amazing job tending to our table as well as her other guests. I am very observant and noticed she had several tables at one time, yet, she manged us all with professionalism and concern. I definitely would recommend this restaurant, although, I do suggest making a reservation! 😊

Carson’s in Lexington is always a solid choice for a great night out. The atmosphere is upscale yet comfortable, making it perfect for both date nights and special occasions. The steaks are cooked perfectly, and the seafood options are just as impressive. Their sides and cocktails really round out the experience. Service is attentive and professional, and the staff makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. Definitely one of Lexington’s standout dining spots that’s worth returning to.

I went here for Valentines, Feb 14th, 2026. I rarely go out to eat so, my husband and I were very excited to try Carson’s. I’ve lived in Lexington for 20 years and I’ve always heard all the rave about it. I’ll start off by saying the prices are obviously ridiculous. You hear about it every time someone mentions it. You really just have to hope it’s worth it. I’m unfortunately going to report it wasn’t worth it. First, we started off with the pretzels and beer cheese. The beer cheese was phenomenal. I always love when it’s a warm cheese instead of cold. The pretzel was just average. Very doughy, and didn’t taste of quality. Alongside that we ordered the ‘Carson’s Nachos’. Definitely the worst thing we tried. It was odd because it was a mix of hot and cold items on it. Hot cheese and cold avocado and tomatoes for example. It wasn’t well crafted. All the toppings were plopped once right on the center so you got a couple of good pieces and then there was only bare chips left. We only took a couple of bites of this. For my entree, I decided on the twin filets with a side of their Gouda mac and cheese and what they call ‘Yukon gold mashed potatoes’. The filet was average. They didn’t cook it how I asked. The mac and cheese was fine, just underseaoned. The mashed potatoes were pretty awful. They weren’t creamy or buttery. Dry and cold. I also got a ceasar salad that was phenomenal, but it’s pretty hard to mess up a basic salad. My husband ordered the spicy pasta filet. And my god this was amazing!!! I wish it was a bigger portion. I was blown away how amazing and perfected this dish was. And it was amazing as leftovers as well. We didn’t stay for dessert because we were pretty disappointed with everything we had eaten. The atmosphere was average, the booths aren’t super comfortable. Service was average we don’t ask for too much so she did great. In total we spent about $140. I don’t think we will be returning unless I start craving that spicy pasta filet.
