I live really close to this restaurant so I want to love it, though I have honesty given it way too much grace.
Being a local, I often call the restaurant for to go orders. The only phone number they have listed is for the hotel who then transfers you over to the restaurant. Every time I call, I have to be transferred at least three times before someone in the restaurant picks up. They often note that the restaurant is busy, though two times ago, I literally walked in and there was only one person at a table.
I called the other night and the first three times my call went to voicemail. Then, on calls four and five the restaurant staff literally picked up and let me listen to them talk to each other and to customers for 4 to 5 minutes before I eventually hung up. To me - that just added intentionality and blatant disregard for customers. If they don’t want to accept to go orders, that is fine… as it stands, they do and it is so frustrating every single time to go through this.
Also, a few months ago, I ordered $63 worth of food which was all incredibly disappointing. My zucchini app only had three coins in the box. I called management who said they would issue a gift card. The gift card was only $30. So I decided to then only order what that would cover - chicken Alfredo. The noodles barely covered half of the box. For the restaurant to have such a fun location, it is incredibly disappointing that their service is non existent 100% of the time and their portions are very minimal for cost.

My boyfriend and I had reservations here for Valentines Day. We were so excited to try some place new. That being said we will NEVER be back to 33 Staves again. We arrived 30 minutes before our reservation. After being seated, we waited almost 30 minutes before even getting a glass of water. Ridiculous! And before anyone asks, no the place was not packed and they had several waiters/waitresses working. After getting a water it was close to 15 minutes before our order was even taken. From there, I waited 15-20 minutes for a cocktail and an unsweetened tea. The appetizer was good, salad was decent, then we got to the entree, where we waited at least 30-45 minutes for. My boyfriend and I both ordered a steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. When it finally arrived, after I had to threaten to walk out because we had been there for almost 2 hours and had not yet received our entree, they had given me the wrong sides and my steak was super red on the inside which I had ordered it medium well. I just went ahead and ate it because I knew if I sent it back to the kitchen that I would never see it again. While our waitress apologized, her and the other staff continued to LIE to our face saying “oh your meal is coming out right now” and “oh I think someone else took your alls food and gave it to someone else”. Just be honest and say that you all are slow and mismanaged. I counted a total of 5 couples that came in 45 minutes after us and left before we even got our entrees.
The couple next to us ordered their food and was first told that they were out of the pasta they wanted. How are you out of something when you have curated a small five entree menu for Valentine’s Day?? Then, their waiter came back and said “actually we do have it, sorry about that” how do you not know what you have and don’t have. Then, when they got their meal, their waiter didn’t bring them silverware. They had to flag someone down because none of the staff cared enough to come back and check on them or notice that they didn’t even have utensils. Between the excuses, horrible service, okay food, and they didn’t even give us a free dessert or money off our meal for being there almost three hours, needless to say we won’t be back. Happy Valentines Day to us I guess🙃
Hate to complain but I've given this restaurant business despite them improving. This was my second visit and don't really want to go back. Each time I've been with parties of 6 to 8 and there have been issues. Today our food took a while and then came out cold. It was remedied by the waitress, replacing each item that we complained about or they just kept it but really should have sent it back. I don't have any photos but I got the fruit parfait which was good, minus the large amount of fruit water discovery at the bottom of my bowl, a biscuit and gravy (gravy was brought out hot, after I hated to say that it was brought out cold). My family got espresso which had to be made fresh again, French toast which had to be made fresh again, minus my brother who just sucked it up and ate it cold, my husband and other brother got served luke-warm and good country sunrise breakfast.
The service was nice and as fast as she could do with a slow kitchen. 20% was added to the bill because of our party size....which I do understand, but also don't because they clearly cannot handle 'big' parties.
The atmosphere isn't the best because people are constantly carting their luggage and luggage carts through the restaurant that doesn't really have enough space for them to get through...because the hotel entrance is closed for some reason. Could be closed because they are automatic doors and it is cold out but then the chill of the constantly used door in the restaurant is opened and closed providing cold air to you, as you sit next to the already cold window.
This was a terrible Valentine’s Day experience. First of all, I guess they used the ballroom for extra seating incase the restaurant filled up. The ballroom was a bare bright room with folded tables set up, completely unromantic and every couple that got sat in here with us looked around like are we really sitting in here?? It was such an awkward vibe, like we were at a conference and pretty much ruined a romantics Valentine’s Day dinner atmosphere. But the food ended up being 2/5 seemed like it was a frozen meal and the waitress brought our forks holding the end that goes in our mouthes with her hands. I would have 1000% rather stayed home. And on top of that, the restaurant was half way empty so they could have just sat us at the regular tables but I guess saved that for walk ins? DONT GO HERE.

Made a reservation for Valentine’s Day 6 weeks in advance. Arrived and were taken to the back room (where large reception events are usually held) and placed at a table set for 4. All the tables in that room were set up for sharing with other couples. We were not aware of this until that moment. We asked if the bar was an option, as we assumed the main dining area would be fully reserved. Once in the bar, we realized one bartender was taking care of 12-14 bar guests and making drinks for the entire restaurant. She was beyond frazzled. Long story short, we had to order our food and drinks by making trips to the bar, even though we were told we would have bar service at the table in the area. This resulted in long waits each time. Our food was taking a long time to come out. The one time the bartender came to check on us, she asked if we ordered-though she placed the order. Once we got our appetizer, the food runner came right back around with our entrees, acknowledging she knew we just got the app. It was a horrible experience for a special occasion. They were obviously ill prepared. The one good thing was the food. It was delicious. We will never go there for a large event or special occasion again. I hope they can do better. These things start at the top…the staff should have been better supported and things more organized.
