Just took my card, let out a sigh of what I can only describe as disgust at me for even giving a kind glance over to them, and handed it back, turned around and shut the window. I wondered if I had done anything to upset them, but I corrected my self doubting behavior by reminding myself, I didn’t even get a chance to say anything at all! I slowly approached the next window, my heart anticipating another rejection, and the man just handed me a bag, and closed the window again. I was unsure of whether or not this was everything I’d ordered, i sat there for a brief moment checking the bag, and I was good to go. But I just felt so alone? I typically go to fast food joints to have some human interaction, maybe some kind small talk, but this left me feeling empty, cold, rejected, alone. Please tell your workers to be warmer to the customers. Yes, we live in a cruel world, but little acts of kindness DO make a difference.
