We went here for the second time together, and got to meet the owner, Steve! We were all impressed because he was cleaning tables, taking orders, making shakes, and straightening up the dining room area. Really awesome to see an owner get his hands dirty like this! He even came to our table and explain some of the history of this amazing restaurant to us! After he left our table he went directly to another table and sat down with them for a few minutes, before returning to work! Very friendly atmosphere!
All of the servers, and people who attended to us at the front register at every visit were very polite and helpful. They all work together as a team, so we have been waited on by at least six different people, and we only visited twice!
We have tried the chili with noodles, and without noodles, the fried cornbread, the biscuits and gravy, the chili dogs, the Royal burger, the fries, onion rings, grilled chicken sandwich, orange milkshake, butter pecan milkshake, ski, turkey sausage patties, fried pickles, fried squash/ zucchini, and a regular hamburger! We were recommended the ChuckWagon by another Patron who offered to buy it for me if I did not like it! Even the customers give great customer service LOL
I have not tried the ChuckWagon yet, but plan to on our next visit! I will gladly pay for it myself, but I still appreciate the man who offered the suggestion to us. I will highly recommend this place to anyone! My mother used to come here when she was little. My grandmother had six children, one of them was my mom, when they were all little the kids used to say "let's go to Queenie B's, let's go to Queenie B's" (as it was formerly called Burger Queen, with a mascot named Queenie Bee 🐝). Steve the owner, remember it's going there when he was younger as well! This restaurant is steeped in history, and hopefully it will stay around for 100 years or better! The name changed sometime in the 80s, but a lot of things remain true to my mother's memories of one of her favorite childhood spots! Five stars and 2 Thumbs way up!
We had 4 meals with appetizers and milkshakes, and it cost us around $35! Best deal in town!
