The sandwiches were outstanding, but the French bistro soup was only adequate.

Be careful what day you go here. Some days they don't have bread for sandwiches yet are still somehow open and operating. My friend and I hang out on Monday's and we like to pick different places in the area to hang out and eat at. Panera Bread is a place we both enjoy or at least used to enjoy until they made all these policy changes company wide that mean they get food inventory delivered once a week and once that inventory is up, so is the selections on the menu until they get another delivery.
Wow. So a sandwich and bread place doesn't have sandwiches or bread due to lack of delivery or lack of ordering enough inventory to make it through the week? You might be like.. oh but Braxton, maybe it was just that one time this happened. You know, could have been an overly busy weekend and they were out. True. I would agree with that if it was one time. But three times now on random Monday's we tried going there, this has happened. Each time the worker there (who was always friendly and polite) informed us that they were out of sandwich bread and other vital ingredients for most of the sandwiches and the delivery should come in on Wednesday if we can come back after then.
You do more research into this and you see in an attempt to save $21 Million they closed all their bakery stations nearby and now pre freeze and prepare the foods and breads and deliver to each location weekly on a very specific schedule and inventory amount. Doesn't matter if some weeks you have more customers of if this means for two days you can't sell your most important items (sandwiches and bread), that is how they will do it and all to save a whole $21 Million to look good for the stockholders and prevent any loss of wasted inventory. A billion dollar company is saving $21 Million and willing to go without stock for two days a week to look good to the holders and the new CEO is doing nothing at all about it but having you sign up for their rewards program.
The food is fine when you can get it. But even their new reduced menu kind of sucks. They removed everything that was fun from it in this restructuring they did and the prices sure went up but the quality, sizes and lack of available supply sure didn't.
Until they fix this, we won't be going here anymore. This is a horrible way to run a company. Yeah I'd like to order a sandwich on your menu. Sorry we can't sell you that. But isn't this Panera Bread? yeah sorry we're out of bread until Wednesday. HUH?
I don't think this company is going to survive if this is how they are operating now. All to make the books look good but barely save anything but make customers miserable due to being out of basic food items at a food service store. When they care more about the customers more than the very small savings in the books, then we may return again. Maybe.

Would give a total of five but the pricing is very confusing with their new two for $10. It's not cheap. It's fairly expensive. The atmosphere is usually fine but the tables were all very dirty. It was very disappointing. For a bread bowl, half a sandwich and a cup of soup. Two medium drinks. It was $35.
