I didnt expect a lot from a modest location in central Kansas but this place blew my expectations away. Some of the best Indian food ive had in the United States. The curry was spicy and flavorful, the naan was fresh and they had the large portions youd expect from an Indian restaurant. Great prices and friendly staff too, highly recommend

The food is fantastic. A delicious and welcome addition to the area.
I can’t speak to authenticity because I’ve never been to India, but it’s definitely as good if not better than some of the same food I’ve had in Denver, Kansas City, and even Chicago.
Good enough I got some delivered for our game group today and two people who’ve never had Indian food are now fans.

So, I apologize. We were hungry and ate before we thought about taking pictures. But they saya picture is worth a thousand words, and there wasn’t much left after we were done, so take that for what it’s worth. Hubs got the Chicken Tikka Masala, medium spice and I got the chicken Korma, mild plus. I think I should have leveled up to medium- i like mine with a little kick, but was cautious since it was a new place for us. I liked hubs better as his had a little punch. We do make a mistake and ordered the bread basket for just the two of us. Huge basket of naan. All good, but I stuffed myself since we were in a hotel. Should have just picked one naan. But it would be great for a large party. Would definitely visit again if in the area.
First of all it must be acknowledged that the location is not the greatest but do not let that deter you from eating here or getting take out. The food is excellent and comes out in a timely manner. The naan bread is so good and huge! I always end up taking food home because the portions are large. Reasonably priced as well. I’m boring and have gotten the same thing twice now but the menu has lots of options and the staff are so nice.

The food at Janaki is absolutely delicious, and it’s great to have authentic Indian cuisine in Salina. Dishes like the butter chicken are flavorful and very well-prepared. That said, the restaurant itself feels a bit awkward. The atmosphere isn’t very polished, and while the staff are friendly, the service can feel a little inconsistent. Sometimes there’s music, sometimes it’s dead silent. The biggest downside and my biggest personal gripe is the price. A single dish with rice can run nearly anywhere from 19 to 20 ish dollars before tax, and even plain naan costs $4, special naan options are even pricier. Most places outside of salina have their naan complimentary, which id expect with such a heavy price. This makes it tough to visit more than occasionally. It’s a shame, because I’d love to bring friends and family to try it, but the cost adds up quickly for the overall experience. Absolutelt delicious; SPECTACULAR food, but the value and ambiance hold it back.
