  Going to Panera tonight after Being stuck at work all day. I had to re-say how I wanted my sandwich roughly 5 times it was provided to me twice in the drive-through incorrectly so I went in to get the sandwich corrected they again had me clarify numerous times the sandwich is just turkey and cheese, plain and toasted. The person in the drive-through told me that they couldn’t even make it that way the first time I said it, when I told him I have had it this way many times he finally turned around and told them how I wanted it done. Clearly it was not made correctly, so I went inside very frustrated and asked for them to make it. He finally made the sandwich and brought it to me, normally when they make it incorrectly in the drive-through or there is some other concern, they automatically offer Something I thought he might offer some partial refund for all of my trouble, I asked if he was going to provide anything and he said how about a cookie, I just said never mind and walked away out of there in frustration. He retorded why did you even bother to ask? At that point, I turned around and told him that outcome it was obnoxious and he knew it and there’s no way that he should be speaking to me like that. He started arguing and demand that I leave. Really regretting that I did not bring all of my food back in and get a refund for the entire purchase.

  I used to go to Panera a lot and everything would be good! The last two times I’ve gone my sandwiches have been nasty. I get the chipotle chicken avocado melt, last time my chicken was gross, fatty and weird and questionable avocado. This time I also got a clump of weird chicken and absolutely disgusting avocado. Like half rotten looking avocado. Very disappointing for a $12 sandwich. Not going back since this seems to be the norm now. Way too expensive to be giving nasty chicken and rotten avocado on people’s sandwiches!

  When we travel, we often eat at Panera. It’s our “Go-To” place for good, fast food. Tonight we stopped in Salina, KS after a long day of driving to get dinner to take back to our hotel room—bowl of soup and baguette. But they were out of bread! How can a bread specialty bakery cafe be out of bread? So we asked for a bagel to substitute and were told by the manager there were no substitutions, and the bagel was a “cost item” so we would have to pay extra. We come from 25 years of experience owning and operating a successful specialty bread bakery. Our first priority was always keep our customers happy, whatever it took. Substituting a bagel for a baguette seems a pretty easy way to do that, instead of creating ill feelings and customer dissatisfaction. A customer’s experience is what will always bring them back, not just the product.
