I really want to like this place, but after being turned away at the counter at my first visit and food that was just good enough on my second visit, this time was about as terrible an experience you can have at a fast food restaurant.
I had an online order with a variety of different items because we wanted to try a bunch of stuff out. I checked in at the drive thru speaker, and after waiting a couple of minutes at the window, an employee greeted me and informed me it was gonna be a few minutes because there were only three people working. This is a Sunday during lunch rush, not the time you want to be caught short staffed. It took 30 minutes for my order to come out, and the employee was apologetic, gave me some coupons for my wait.
The bag was packed to the brim and already seeping grease out of its bottom when it was handed to me, it was too unruly to check the order for accuracy in my car without making a big mess, so I crossed my fingers and drove home.
The order was missing a chicken wrap and all of the sauces I had paid for. The burger I ordered without mayo (makes me gag, wish I wasn’t like this) was slathered with the stuff so I didn’t even try it. Not to mention it was one of the sloppier burgers I’ve come across. The grilled cheese my wife ordered was the item leaking grease out of the bag, and she only had one bite because of the grease. It’s not so much that the food was greasy, it’s just that the grease smelled/tasted old.
We wanted to sample some sides, so we got fries, onion rings and the cheese curds. I’d had the cheese curds before and liked them, but this time they too smelled of nasty old grease, and weren’t fully cooked. The onion rings were either burnt to a crisp or completely limp and soggy. The fries were okay, but it sure would have been nice to have some sauce to dip them in.
The soda was crisp, and the Oreo shake was actually pretty good.
I hate having to leave reviews like this because I feel like the only thing that’s gonna happen is scolding the staff at the restaurant even though this is a management issue in my opinion. The employee I dealt with couldn’t have been kinder, and I could tell he felt bad about the poor service that is required when a store is understaffed. So I hope management sees this and takes moves to ensure their stores are fully staffed to handle a lunch rush, and that quality control is paid more attention to. But I know that’s not gonna happen and at best I’m just gonna get a generic response asking to communicate with me directly so I can get some more coupons thrown in my face.
How about this, instead: Next time I have a free afternoon and am in the mood to risk food poisoning, and I get the whim to try this place again - Maybe offer a quick, accurate, order with well-made fresh tasting food. That would go a lot further than offering more terrible food for free.
