  Hurry into Chowrastha to try their fantastic Indian food! We went with some friends, one who is from Mumbai and both regular visitors to India, so we were helped with choosing dishes. The food and restaurant is excellent! 👍

  Food was decent. But service not so much. When told politely an ingredient was missing I was dismissed by saying “well that’s an extra option”. I’m Indian so no, that is not an extra option it’s supposed to come with it. Even if it was, why wasn’t I told? He took my one bite taken food to the back and brought it back to me with the ingredient. That to me is considered unsanitary. I had a question and the guy was on the phone for 5 minutes near my table talking on the phone before finally hanging up and asking what I needed. Before leaving the lady came with the credit card machine and swiped my card without giving me the bill first. I had to ask her for a receipt so I can see what she charged me. No bye have a nice day thank you. But the same guy was talking to other customers nicely in his language as we walk out without any acknowledgment. Customer service is everything and this place fell short. Won’t ever return ever.

  Desi Chowrastha exceeded our expectations! After a long, exhausting day at work, we wanted something quick and delicious and they delivered much more. The food was absolutely excellent, and full of flavor. The staff was incredibly friendly and helped us with our order, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Everything was better than we hoped for. 10/10 we’ll definitely be back for both the amazing food and outstanding service!

  Six months ago, I moved about 45 minutes south of this area and was passing through. I'm on a mission to find the best spicy tomato-based curry lamb/goat in Indy. I'm passionate about this. Tonight I found the best in all of Indy (maybe India too). I had the Chowrastha Chef's Special Goat/Lamb with rice. It was a well constructed curry. Finesse. Highly impressed. Will be back.

  Delicious food! Ordered pickup because it was a late last minute dinner decision. Got there and they were out of the ibli dish I ordered. Offered to swap for another item. I picked one of the poori dishes. It was a very fast fix, he handled their mistake with care and apologies. 10/10 recommend if you like authentic idian food. The "spice" did not disappoint! Will be back again and again.
