They sent me a message telling me that if I came and dressed in orange on the 18th I could buy a bowl and get a bowl free. I went to the Location closest to me, which isn’t the one I normally go to, and ordered a bowl for me and a different one for a friend, which they assembled. The two bowls were similar in some ways but had different sauces and components, but I had them made ‘to go’. On that particular day, they had plenty of people working, probably too many, because they seemed distracted, and I don’t know if that’s common for this location, or if it was a fluke, because it doesn’t normally happen at my standard location. One person behind the counter started making one of my bowls, and passed it off to someone else before they even finished the base and the vegetables. I tried to explain I was getting two bowls but my original ‘server’ was involved in a conversation across the kitchen and walked away when they finished their part of my first bowl and another worker came up and started asking the next person in line about their needs while my first bowl was passed along the counter. Then a new person picked up my partial bowl and wasn’t focused on me but listening to the loud conversation, so asked me the same question more than once. All the while, looking into the back at the other people conversing. I explained I needed a second bowl again and they told me I’d have to go back around and get in line. I expressed my displeasure that I had already waited to get this one and finally the second person went around and started my second bowl and passed them both to a third person who finished both bowls and pushed them toward the cash register area where he proceeded to drop one of them. I asked if they would know which one it was the first one I ordered or the second one and they said they could tell. Then after charging me for both, I explained again about the ‘orange day special’ and they had me try to scan my app, it wouldn’t scan, they voided my sale, had me pay for one, they collected my money, told me they would ‘fix me a new one’ and walked away, throwing the dropped one in a trash can in the kitchen area. They then walked back to start over at the front of the line, and I was left, assuming they were working on mine but they weren’t. I stood there a few minutes, and when I asked about my second bowl they called the manager up to the front. I waited several minutes and a counter person told me I’d have to get back in line to have my remake. It was disorganized and confusing as a customer. I almost wanted to just leave. They asked me what I wanted in my bowl, but I explained I never knew which of the two the my had dropped , so I didn’t know which ingredients to ask for. That I was told they would be able to tell, so they had to dig the one they dropped out of the garbage can to identify ingredients so I could tell them what to rebuild. The whole thing took probably 40 minutes and made me appreciate my regular store that much more.
