This happened the night before Christmas eve. I've worked in the service industry for 17 years and have a different kind of respect and patience for those who do this kind of work. But what I witnessed that night was unacceptable.
I had gone through the drive-thru and was asked to pull around. I waited for just under 15 minutes and decided to go inside and check on my order.
When I walked in i immediately realized a few things. They were a little slammed, the uber eats driver looked antsy, and the crew looked stressed. I figured, ok it took a while because they are a little backed up.
I get my order but my friend notices a taco is missing. Ok, no big deal at all. They're busy, stressed, and only human.
I go back in and let someone know of the missing taco. While I wait I'm witnessing who I assumed to be the manager talk poorly to employees and be rude to frustrated quests. (NOT irate, frustrated. There's a difference).
I asked one of the employees if that was the manager and he nodded. I asked if that's how she regularly talks to her employees. He insisted it was fine but I refuse to believe that's true as I actively witness her being verbally aggressive with her crew and even a guest.
This is just the experience inside, the food we got was extremely soggy, my burrito smelled and tasted like one of the ingredients were left in room temp for too long. And I never got the missing taco because I just figured their problems were bigger than mine and decided to leave.
