I've had many taverns before and no, they are not charred. But the service and atmosphere are great. Also it was my son's birthday so it didn't work out very well.

There's no foot room under the table, the table support legs are also underfoot and the seat cushion looks fine but the foam is uneven and after 15 to 20 minutes you start to feel uncomfortable and it's distracting. The large Chicago style deep dish had undercooked bottom even after sending it back into the oven for another 10 mins. The garlic fries were delicious. Sorry to say this was the 1st and the last time we will visit here. Manager dismissed the foot and table leg discomfort. They did remove the deep dish pizza from the bill. So now we're off to find some more dinner food since we are still hungry. 😪

They were greeted, ordered and had their drinks. We were seated for about 15 minutes and no one had ever approached our table. We finally got up, I picked up the menus and walked to the front, handed them to the same gal that seated us and said we've been here 15 minutes and no one has even come to our table to take our order let alone ask what we wanted to drink. The manager was standing with her, just looked at me and didn't say a word.
