Went here last week. Got some good fresh Polish sausage, potato pancakes, rye bread and a few more items.
At the register, the nice lady named Ursula offered a bag of Polish chips for only $1. I said "sure...I'll take one". I opened the bag today. Tried one of the chips and thought boy, this tastes stale.... So I look at the package more closely to discover these chips expired in February of 2025. Expired for 10 months, so they're offering them for a dollar without telling people that they've been expired for nearly a year.
That's just a pathetic attempt to make $ any way they can. TEN MONTHS EXPIRED!? How would I ever ever trust that the other food I'm buying there is not also old? I can't.

This is the second time this deli has sold me spoiled meat. The smell was awful the moment I opened it. This isn’t a simple mistake — it’s a repeated food safety issue.
This place needs to be reported to the Indiana Department of Health because selling spoiled meat can seriously hurt people. I won’t be returning, and I hope others are careful until this is addressed.

What a delightful place! We came in on a weekday and the pace was relaxed and festive (with beautiful Polish Christmas items for sale), lusciously-scented (reminding me of European restaurants or kitchens), immaculately clean, with kind and gracious staff. We just browsed around, picking a poppy seed loaf (not as sweet as those made by American bakeries, but rich, substantial, perfect for coffee) and a marzipan to take home. And speaking of coffee, next to the beautiful deli is a corner with coffee and cookies for customers. Wandering the aisles was a treat, too. While a lot of the items are in Polish, the labels also have English translation. Such a fantastic array off ingredients and goodies! I'll have to come back to truly grocery shop here. In our culture of cookie-cutter franchises, Carpathia offers us another beautiful option. I'm grateful to have such a grocery story/deli in our area and wish them the very best!

Awesome Polish grocery store and deli. My Grandpa used to go to Maruzak Sausage in Hammond. (Sadly they closed down). These guys have the same stuff as they had plus a full grocery store!! I ordered hot food at the deli and they have picnic tables inside the front of the store to eat at!! The food is phenomenal! I am enjoying buying all different flavors of Polish teas to make iced tea from. The employees are very friendly and helpful. I am also having fun trying new snacks that are from Poland. I highly recommend this store!!!
