  I sat at the bar with my friend Craig. Austin served us both drink and food. Amazing first time. He knew his drinks, he knew how to conversate, just a good guy all around. I definitely will come back if hes working the bar. Steaks were amazing, my friend got the Tomahawk. What a beautiful monstrosity that was. Recommend, 11/10

  Had a really great time at 1830 Chop House tonight. Took my parents out and everything was excellent. Josh our server took care of us and was seriously awesome the whole time. He was training a new server and she did a great job as well. Service like that really makes a place stand out. I had the 16 oz bone-in filet, my Dad had the same, and my mom got the salmon. Everything was really good. The bread and salad was great, and the cheesecake was absolutely amazing. Just an all-around great experience. Big thanks to Josh for making it such a good night.

  We visited the first time in April 2025. All four of us ordered steak, with my husband getting prime rib. We all order our steaks medium. When the steaks came out they were all well done (no pink). We sent two steaks back, including the prime rib. We were then informed that was the last prime rib so he had to order something else. When the two reordered steaks came out they were also well done. We were told the cook was brand new and they took a little off our bill. I did not write a review at that time. 11 months later (early March 2026) we decided to try again. I was the only person who ordered steak this time and I ordered it medium rare to be on the safe side. It came out well done. I looked at the waiter and said “I’m sorry, how did I order my steak?” And I showed it to him. He said “yeah, medium rare, I know.” He acted like this was a normal occurrence. I told him I would eat it and they took a little off our bill. We were literally the only people in the building so I’m not sure why it was wrong. We probably won’t return, at least not for steak. It’s really a shame because the food is otherwise very good, and the restaurant is charming. But for the prices they are charging at a restaurant with “chophouse” in the name they should be able to get a steak right. Amazon sells meat thermometers for under $10.

  1830 is one of the best chophouses in Indy. The food is always good, with matching atmosphere. But, the thing that sets them apart is how personable they are. Every event that I've shared there, the staff have been phenomenal, most recently my father's birthday. Highly recommend.

  First Time to try the chophouse. We came at a low hour between lunch and dinner so we had a chance to look around the restaurant and pleasantly surprised to have such a nice setting. Service was amazing. Josh Barkus took great care of us, was very informative and personable. He Gave great recommendations and help us navigate our first visit here while taking care of other customers that we’re coming in.
