Hello,
I am writing to formally report an extremely disappointing experience at a McDonald’s drive-thru on February 1st while traveling through the Lafayette area.
I stopped to purchase a Happy Meal for my grandson. After pulling up to the second drive-thru window, I sat there for over five minutes without any acknowledgment. During that time, I could clearly see the Happy Meal sitting at the window. When an employee finally came to the window, I politely requested fresh fries, as the food had been sitting for an extended period and I had paid for hot, fresh food for my grandson.
The employee, who identified herself as Dawn, responded with a very poor attitude. She rolled her eyes, sighed loudly, slammed items around, and behaved in an extremely unprofessional manner. Her reaction made me genuinely uncomfortable and concerned about the handling of the food. When I asked for her name, she responded in a smart, dismissive manner.
When we opened the Happy Meal, the fries were still cold, and there was a small black, curly hair on my grandson’s cheeseburger (on the bun). This was unacceptable and deeply upsetting, especially when serving food to a child.
I want to be clear that I am not reaching out for free food or compensation. This was a brief stop while traveling, and I do not live in the area. I am contacting you because this experience reflected very poorly on McDonald’s standards for customer service, food quality, and food safety.
I hope this concern is taken seriously and addressed appropriately, as no customer—especially a child—should have an experience like this.
Time was approximately 7:22-7:35pm
