  Beef and cheddar croissant shows cheddar sauce in the picture but they made mine with a tiny dab of shredded cheese. Couldn't even tell there was cheese on it. Probably would have been pretty tasty if they made it correctly. I shouldn't have to pay extra for cheese sauce when it should come on the sandwich

  I gotta be honest, I left a 5 star review 2 years ago I had to delete. This location has messed up my food and corrected in previously no need to go further with it. However tonight? Completely just disappointing. I ordered close to closing time, more than 30 minutes before night end due to my shift running late, my fault for thinking I would still get good service? 1 beef & cheddar 2 maxwells 1 hot dog Well I got 2 plain hot dogs, no maxwells and what looks like beef pulled from the grease trap. Mind you all of this cost me over 40 dollars. Can I please get some help with this? By the time I would have even made it back it would have been closed. The lady who took my order was very polite and helpful is the only positive I can say.

  WOW, unfortunate day for Portillos on Sunday March 1, 2026. First, as I entered the restaurant, I noticed the outside trash can overflowing onto the ground. When I tried to enter the building, I was greeted with signs saying the revolving door was broken. I placed my order and grabbed my cup to fill it. The Dr Pepper was out (tray was full of ice where people were dumping out drinks when they discovered the mix was out on multiple flavors). Waited forever on my order. Had to ask for it. Was told it was “pushed behind” other orders. Went to get napkins. They were out. Set my food down and went to wash my hands in the mens room. Was greeted with out of order signs on both faucets. Never have I seen Portillos struggle with so many things wrong/broken all at the same time. What happened Portills?

  My wife and I are Chicagoland natives, and we frequently brag about the absolute best local tradition of a Portillos Italian Beef sandwich. This evening, we came in for a pseudo date night, after going out shopping, and as operations folks ourselves, we both would be embarrassed to call this establishment one of our own. The restaurant was disgusting. Trash bins overfilled. Ketchup and mustard all over the condiment station. Drink station overflowing with ice. Tables were sticky and trash all over the floor. Watched multiple team members walk past full bins, and leaving the pictured broom to seek companionship for the entirety of our stay. The staff was also rude. Calling out orders was rushed, no enthusiasm, and difficult to hear. Our order was taken by a team member who seemed more interested in taking a nap, than serving her customers. Utterly disgraceful. And at last, our food was dry, over salted fries, and overall unsatisfying. I write this in hopes that this will reach someone who truly cares, and can return this Chicagoland tradition to greatness, as we miss this experience. I hope to hear from someone soon who may take this seriously before this restaurant closes like so many others.

  Ordered our food and my wife and I waited almost 30 minutes and it was 1 sandwich and some onion rings. I approached the counter and asked about my order they said they was waiting on my Onion rings I responded for a half hour? They said sorry we're busy. Bread was soggy by the time we sat down to eat the sandwich. Definitely won't be back.
