I'm originally from the Chicago area so feel a certain nostalgia towards Jewel. I've given this Jewel many chances but I'm officially done. I know this isn't location specific, but STOP with the digital coupons. No one wants this. It's a complete PIA and I shouldn't have to download an app, log in and then clip something to get savings. Digital coupons are discussed relentlessly online and it truly does affect where people shop (yes, I have spent my entire career in market research in CPG so I know quite a bit about this topic). Aldi right across the street has none of this nonsense. The cashiers are also just odd and inappropriate. Too chatty and personal. Goes way beyond being friendly or pleasant. Stop opining on the products that I'm purchasing as you scan them. But my biggest gripe is the absolute chaos this store is physically. It is impossible to shop there without dealing with aisle traffic jams b/c employees are stocking shelves or coolers during busy traffic times. Their carts and bodies completely blocking the aisles and shelves. It's as if Jewel decides "hey let's stock shelves when we have the most customers in the store". Funny, I never experience this at Strack or Aldi. Oh, and when an employee has to step aside for a customer to get something that they are blocking, they act all put out and irritated. Truly just a horrible grocery store and I don't understand how management cannot see that things need to be improved. Maybe they just don't care. Sad.

The store is always organized, clean and well stocked with fresh produce, meats and seafood. The best secret is Jewels cooked grilled chicken is deliciously well seasoned, flavorful, moist, and tender. I love Jewels weekly sales and if an item is out, rain checks that is honored for 30 days.
