First review I've ever left for any food related place...I used to work in food service and I hate throwing shade even if I don't like it. Everybody has an off day. But this was different. I ordered an Acai bowl and took it out to the car. First warm day of the season, broken A/C isn't helping, thought it would be the perfect thing to help cool off. Open it, put my spoon in, through the heaping stack of granola and bananas and strawberries, just to hit the dry bottom of the cup. Ate through a couple of spoonfuls of sand-dry granola and a few planks of banana and strawberry...swirled it around...scraped the corners and found what I thought was an acai bowl was actually a strategically placed circle of acai around the sides, while the center was just granola and fruit with absolutely nothing holding it together. A little frustrated and now very thirsty, I get back in line and ask the nice lady if I could pay for some extra acai to go in my bowl, since there wasn't really any in here. And then showed her the dry bowl. She got the supervisor to help and what followed might be the most asinine conversation I've ever had. Me: "Hey, can I pay for a little more acai in here? It's really dry and there's really no acai." Him: "We can't it's all weighed before shift." Me: "Do you have the acai base that you made it with?" Him: "There is no acai base. It's all weighed before. You can't just have extra." Me: "No, I'll pay for it, I just want some acai in my bowl please..." Him: "You'll have to buy another bowl. There is no base." Me: "Wait, I'd have to buy another bowl with no acai in it to get some of the acai base to get enough in my bowl?" Him: "I don't think you understand, there is no acai base...it's the whole thing. You have to buy another bowl." Me: "But the sign says it's made with an acai base...nevermind, can I just buy an acai smoothie then?" Him: "Yes, but that's not the base...that's got bananas and granola and everything the bowl has too. You'll have to pay for it." Me: "Yeah, I know...I just want some acai...ok..." *pays for acai smoothie also* Me: "Can I just get the acai by itself? Don't worry about putting the other stuff in there." Him: "That's not the base though...it has all the stuff the bowl has." Me: "Ok, let me ask this in another way...do you make acai smoothies?" Him: "Yes." Me: "Do you put all the other stuff in after you blend it?" Him: "Yes." Me: "Can I just get that then. Before all the other stuff. In a cup. Please. Was that enough money to pay for that at least?" Him: "Yes." Ten minutes later he blends me an acai smoothie, without all the extras, which I then pour into the "acai" fruit bowl and it makes a serviceable snack. Which ended up costing me nearly $30. Not a cross word or a raised voice, but I've never felt more frustrated and straight up scammed at a smoothie shop before. I feel stupid I actually spent double the price just to get some cold acai in that bowl. What a weird, uncomfortable experience. ps - To the owner/social media person, please...don't respond. I know you don't care, and I know this is the same as every other soulless fast food entity. Acai is expensive and you need just enough plausible deniability to justify whatever ratios maximize your profit. Any PR nonsense is falling on deaf ears, and all your bribing people with the "leave us 5-stars on Google" cards plastered all over the inside of your establishment only goes so far.

Coming in and being a very indecisive person, I always ask for recommendations to try new things. As I came up to the counter to ask for suggestions and what they liked, Elizabeth, being the sweetest person, suggested her favorites. I loved how friendly and sweet she was with me. I would definitely come again to try new items. She also recommended that I download the app! Loving these points!!
