I recently wrote about the DQ in Buffalo Grove seemingly always being busy regardless of the weather. This place is opposite. There is a Cold Stone Creamery that seems to always be packed just a block away, but DQ is cheaper and is delicious, so why is it always empty?
I know four reasons why:
1) The owner is the biggest grouch on the planet. She in genuinely unhappy to see you walk through the door. There are times when she is happy, but that's when someone else who speaks her language is there that she is speaking with in that language. And if you dare to interrupt her to order, you just get a nasty stare like you've killed her cat.
2) They are more expensive than any other DQ around. Her prices are easily one and a half times more expensive than any other DQ.
3) They don't always have all the toppings available. If you ask for something like the peanut crunchies (crusted peanuts and sprinkles) and they're out, she glares as if thinking, "get something else, stupid."
4) They keep changing their hours. Sometimes you're in the area and want DQ but don't want to go out of your way to get it elsewhere (where they're friendly). So you go here to see a note taped to their door (white sheet of printer paper, ballpoint ink writing) stating they are now opening later in the day. Here's a novel idea, make the change to your Google Business page).
Not worth the trouble. You're better off at Cold Stone Creamery which is 5x the price. At least they're friendly.

If you're looking for ice cream- don't go here. If you're into feeling ignored and demeaned- check this place out. The lady working the counter is rude as H-E- DOUBLE 🏒. and acts as though you're inconvenient for coming in

Just like McDonald's n other places their ice cream isn't even ice cream. It's a liquid or powdered substance that they turn into ice cream what they call ice cream. It's a cheap imitation that's overpriced and the only thing that's real is the stuff they put into the like chocolate or something. It always gives me the shitz.
