The chicken and noodles is really chicken and dumplings. Only the dumplings are smaller. I was asked if I wanted a roll and thinking that would be included, said yes. Apparently, they are an extra 1.50. Granted, they’re huge, but very yeasty. I didn’t care for it. The biggest disappointment was the apple dumpling. I’m used to a crispy flaky crust. Unfortunately, it was served sitting in a very watery cinnamon sauce, so the whole thing was soggy. The cinnamon flavor was overpowering. It might be a lot better without the sauce. You can get it with ice cream but I didn’t opt for that. The prices are high. The service was great. Very friendly people.

We were a large group of about 15 people. The server was very organized. Everyone received exactly what they ordered in a timely manner. All of bills were correct. Several people ordered the fried chicken plate and were happy with their meals.

Slightly off the beaten path, this is and is A down home, family style place where everything is made with love and made to order. Portions are great for the price and my meal tasted a lot like my childhood. Fresh fried chicken (Midwest style), creamy mashed potatoes with chicken gravy and green beans that tasted like my grandmother's canned ones- a little bit of ham, some onions, and a ton of flavor. I wish I would have had the appetite for one of their desserts. And if I'm passing through again for breakfast, I suspect they have country favorites like biscuits and gravy.
A couple of notes: There's not a lot of parking and it's not fast food. But if you're passing through Urbana and craving comfort food it's certainly worth the stop.
