Ordered a small deep dish with slab sausage. Manage-owner was very helpful even though they were getting slammed in a rain storm. I was grabbing it later in the evening, didn't have to wait long. So, the pizza was very good, been eating Chicago deep dish for 58 years, mostly in Chicago, not DeKalb. DeKalb does a great job, I have 2 possible "improvements" . First, the pizza was a bit think on their great tomato sauce. 2 pieces of 6 were barely covered. Second, the sausage should be WALL TO WALL, or EDGE TO EDGE! I don't care that sausage process are high, I come for slab sausage. You need to tell me that if I want it old school (the right way), with no gaps in the sausage, charge me $3-4 for I'm. I'm ok with that, way better! Manager boxed it fresh from the oven, put plates and utensils and crushed peppers and parm. Perfect! Just in more small issue, the outside edge of the crust was hard and flaky 👍🏻 and the bottom center was great! Problem was the curve on the crust that holds the bottom to the edge was SOGGY! that's a new one to me 🤔 pizza was still better than 90% of pie places in the area. $25 for the pizza! Service was decent, I waited about 25 minutes, ran over to HyVee for some alcohol that goes well with pizza, beer and wifey. We didn't, every bit, worth the wait. Didn't get any pics because eating fresh Giordano's took priority, sorry guys and gals! I'll do better next time
