I have to admit, although I am a vegetarian, I was very pleasantly surprised that Portillo’s have vegan hot dogs, so this is something everyone should know! They were so good, alongside their chocolate cake, and even the decor inside is beautiful and interesting since it has a lot of memorabilia from the past. Definitely would recommend, especially for anyone who loves hot dogs!

We place our order after being in the Drive-Thru line for about 15 minutes. We ordered two hot dogs, two polish, an order fries and onion rings. Not a huge order.
When we got to the window, we sat there for another 15 minutes or so before someone opened the window and toldl us to pull into a parking spot ahead. We did, and waited and waited and waited. While we were waiting I started counting the cars they were being served behind us. After I counted 10 cars served and we've been waiting now for an additional 20-25 minutes, I went inside and asked for a refund.
I explained the situation to the cashier stating that we are told to pull up, we were the only ones told to pull up, and literally 10 other cars were served behind us (actually probably a couple more then that before I started counting). I told her we were done we just wanted to refund.
The cashier went to get her manager, and I quickly explain to him as well about being told to pull up, being the only ones told to pull up, and we were still waiting for our food after a good 35-40 minutes from the time we placed our order, and that I wanted a refund. He said he was going to check to see if our food was made, and said if it was made we could have the food as well as the refund. (I was not asking for free food, I want to make that perfectly clear)
I saw him grab a bag from the side that apparently had been ready for a while since the fries and everything were ice cold. I don't know what's going on with portillo's lately but this is the worst service we have had at this location.
Now, the manager did everything right after I complained, but his staff did everything wrong to cause the complaint in the first place. Like, why were we the only ones told to pull up? I can understand if we had a complicated or huge order but we didn't. Not a single other person was told to pull up. Believe me, I watched.

Been here 3-4 times in 4 years. Order has been wrong twice. That's a 50% error accuracy rate for orders. Maybe I'm just unlucky

Need to stop in every now and then for a beef and a dog.. portillo's still the best even after being sold. There beef sandwiches have flavor. They are spicy but not in a hot way, more of a flavorful way. The hots dogs snap when you bite them, as they should. Not a mustard fan, which is a sin in chgoland, but here I go full out with sport peppers too. Both just the best! Every now and then, I need to check in.. still tops!

It’s one of the fast food places that I don’t mind eating. On my list is the Italian beef, cheese burger and the chopped salad. But Portillo’s stand a little bit more with its interior. This place impressed me with the vinaigrette style posters and decor following by the ex president images. It creates a place where you can enjoy food and be surrounded by history.
