I shop here on a regular basis, I noticed that the last two weeks their refrigerator in the back where the turkey, salmon, and ham were being kept weren't running. All the products were completely thawed and warm to the touch. I call to notify they store manager and she was being completely defensive and dismissive. I told her that I just expressing my concerns and I would have to report it to the health department if the problem isn't fixed. She told me and I quote "do what you gotta do" and hung up. Real professional. And I love the total disregard for public safety. Jewels you have to do better. And yes I will be reporting your store.

I’ve been going to the Jewel-Osco in Stickney, and honestly this store needs serious management attention. The customer service has been consistently awful. There’s a guy named Mark in the back who handles pickup orders, and he is extremely rude and unprofessional every time I see him. His assistant acts the same way careless, disrespectful, and completely checked out. The front-end management isn’t much better. One of the managers has a terrible attitude and makes it clear she doesn’t want to help anyone. It’s unbelievable that someone with that level of disrespect is representing the store. The only person who seems to care about customers is the assistant manager with the dreadlocks he’s always helpful, polite, and working hard even when the store is busy. He’s the only one who acts like he actually belongs in a leadership role. Overall, this location needs a serious shakeup in staff and professionalism. Most of the people working here shouldn’t be anywhere near customer service until they learn how to treat customers with respect.

Worse Jewel I've been in. Employees leaving U-boats (carts with products for shelves), in aisles, I had to move them to get access to products 3x. Deli.not interested in putting salads out nor more self serve soup out. Deli meat selection very limited. Bagger put paper products with frozen products. Unbelievable bad experience there.

I went to buy flowers for a funeral of a family member and although the flowers were beautiful, the customer service was absolutely the worst i have ever experiened at any jewel. Debbie was condesending and patronizing. I will not be returning to this jewel.

As I was waiting in the cashier line, a really disgusting odor overpowered the atmosphere. I thought I was the only one that smelled it but the cashier mentioned it too. The bag boy mentioned it as well. When I asked what that smell was, she immediately said it was coming from my items. I told her that I highly doubt that since i’ve been shopping for over an hour and never once caught a whiff of that odor. The best way I can describe it would be spoiled seafood or a really pungent spoiled cheese. Anyways, as she is scanning my items, she once again tells me that whatever I bought was spoiled. The Bag boy tells me that something is spoiled. I would assume that Jewel-Osco would be against selling spoiled items. But instead of helping me find the source of the smell, the employees just continued to tell me that I was the one with the smell. Eventually the employees just became rude and I could tell they were rushing to get me out of the store. Dumping my items in my cart in a quick manner, rudely handing me my receipt, and constantly applying hand sanitizer and being loud enough for other customers to hear when they would say i’m responsible for the smell. At one point, the cashier told another customer that the smell was coming from my side and they both laughed. When I got to my car I immediately went through all of the items I bought and not a single item smelled bad. I firmly believed I wasn’t responsible for the smell from the beginning, but the cashiers remarks almost convinced me that I was problem. Which is why i didn’t want to make a big deal about it. I was put in a very awkward and uncomfortable position by this cashier. Essentially humiliated in front of others for no reason. Instead of helping me, I was rushed out of the store. The cashier was a middle aged black lady with a white shirt/black text. I’m assuming it was a halloween costume. unfortunately I did not get her name so that is the best description I have of her. I’m not trying to be a “karen” but I have to emphasize just how uncomfortable I felt during this whole thing. Being given weird looks by other customers and the employees knowing you’re not to blame is a bad feeling. I hope Jewel Osco can do better.
