What’s more frustrating is that I was told this location doesn’t scan IDs for verification, unlike other stores like the Jewel in Naperville/Aurora, where scanning a temp ID is standard and seamless. If you’re going to sell age-restricted items, even non-alcoholic ones, your team should be trained to recognize and validate all forms of legal identification, including temporary ones issued by the state. This experience was unnecessarily time consuming and embarrassing. I hope management takes this as a cue to better train staff and equip them with the tools needed to serve customers efficiently and respectfully.
