This is THE worst Portillo's. New I was screwed when I was eating in and by the time I got my bag the juice from the Italian beef put a hole through the bag. Just sitting. And it was stone cold. The taste was off too. Definitely not fresh. You can taste the staleness and that refrigerated taste. I was planning on getting back up for dessert after dinner but decided not to out of fear of eating more old food. Drove up from st louis to eat it, greatly disappointed.

We had a great experience here, they were having some troubles with the drive thru speaker when we got there, but the staff there took great care of us. Management especially did well, very thankful for everything they did.

1/02/26 Arrived around 5:15 pm. Not the best $35 I’ve spent on a dinner for two & the Bathrooms? Disgusting. Fiancé said women’s was like a 3rd world country.one stall out of order one clogged with floaters 3rd had toilet paper all over the floor and a used tampon on floor. No condiments at condiment bar other than salt, pepper and ketchup, burger was look warm at best, cheese not even melted. Didn’t bother to wash my hands after dinner because I didn’t wanna go back into that bathroom. Looking good Capital City lol you should take notes from your Bloomington store. It’s very nice.

I wish I had read the reviews before I ordered, however I was hungry and needed to get home. I ordered a Big Beef with sweet peppers, large fries and small onion rings. Ordering from server as she stood out in the cold was quick and easy. The food however was another story. I should have parked and went inside when I was handed my open bag of food. There was no smell coming from the bag. It wasn't warm (I saw the sandwich wrapped in foil nd plastic and thought the rest was wrapped as well. I placed it on the warmed passenger set because I figure it would keep it warmer until I got home. (I had turned the seat warmer on before I even got to the turning lane on veterans. I got home turned on my movie and opened my food. The fries were cold and limp. I tasted one and it tasted like old cold grease. My air fryer couldn't even resurrect them. The onion rings appeared very well done, just as cold and tasted the same. I unwrapped the sandwich. The peppers on top hid the mush of meat between the bread. The meat had no flavor. It looked like what you would get if you put meat through a blend with very dull blades. It resemble ground beef. The peppers where the only thing in this meal that had flavor. It tasted like it was marinated with Italian sausage. There was no denying that these peppers were with pork sausages. So if you are pork sensitive be advised. I ate the meat and the onion rings the rest I had to toss. It was that bad but I was very hungry and didn't want to wait to cook at home.

I ordered two Italian beefs, a beef and cheddar croissant (which unfortunately did not include cheddar at all and they added a pepper that I did not order), two cheese fries both were COLD, and a candy cane shake. The shake was extremely thick and undrinkable as served, and the straw wasn’t provided with my drink, so I had to request one. I also had to go home and add milk and blend the shake to make it remotely possible to drink, which was disappointing. I have visited other Portillo’s locations in Chicago (which were great and very tasty!) without issues, so this was unexpected. On a positive note, the customer service was good—staff quickly and without hesitation addressed my requests, including the missing cheese sauce, and the order was prepared quickly. Overall, the team was attentive and responsive
