    I seldom post a critical note, but a recent evening reflects what I would describe as deep management issues. At the host stand, two young men seemed to think we were walk-ins, despite the reservation on our phones. It seemed like management had pulled in car valets to cover the entrance . After about five minutes while they conversed, we were seated. Why that mattered is unclear as it was far from full. The hostess directed the four of us to what had to be the least desirable table, sitting at a high traffic point, and set for three. On request, she let us use the nearby booth. Their somewhat insulated booths are very good if you prefer the ability to carry on a conversation. Then we waited an inordinate amount of time to get a drink, with the server coming back to say the bar was backed up, i.e., not enough bar tenders. After fending off attempts, admittedly polite, to get us to order immediately, I ordered off what appeared to be a well-used menu, including a crab cake appetizer. It appeared quickly, but was lukewarm and sort of gluey. But that did not really matter as our meal came very shortly after that, and the crab cake disappeared, as did my wife’s bread plate with the bread she intended to eat. The server apologized for bringing the food so quickly, saying the kitchen had gotten the timing wrong. We all agreed the food was good. And the staff were nice. Everything else requires a managerial overhaul and training.

    Excellent spot for an early dinner before catching a near by show. The steaks were cooked to perfection and portions for price were a good value. The drinks ordered from the bar were spot on and also a good value for the price. We ordered appitizers, steak, and seafood with drinks and were under $125 for the the entire meal TIP INCLUDED. Our only complaint: For a high end restaurant in an area with obvious entertainment value it was very disappointing to see persons there in jeans and t-shirts with children left to run around. If we wanted that experience we'd have gone to Applebee's or TGIFriday's just up the road. I thought "Chicago Steak Houses" had dress codes for customers (Business casual or better)?

    Best service arguably that I’ve ever had in my life. While the entire staff was great (water always filled before I asked, offers for extra bread for my appetizer I had left, etc) the biggest shout out goes to the server Edgar!!! I think Edgar may have been newer (mentioned maybe worked at airport before, was 2 months into this job?!)….i couldn’t tell becasue the service was better then any I can remember in my life. I think the reason why goes beyond the basics (maybe someone may have said I’m wrong due to some random detail that a professional reviewer might see, but I saw no flaw at all)…..when a customer like myself can tell a server genuinely cares for you, it makes them feel great! Personally, I have had a crazy week. My coworker knows many of the details which don’t matter for this review, except to say: it meant the WORLD to me that someone who doesn’t know me could treat me so kindly out of the gate. I’ve had servers do a great job, but felt it was a job to them and they just want good tip and the end….but with Edgar, it was something that I can tell is just who HE IS: a great person that cares about people whatever their background, story, race, etc. thank you Edgar for making my night after a long week and being away from my family in Pittsburgh. Please let Edgar know what a great job he’s doing. I would say use him to teach everyone if training is ever needed….people have to care about people for it to work, but I can see Edgar as someone who inspires people and cares about everyone no matter their position. Thanks Edgar! Aka “The GOAT!” I said I would leave a review and I mean every word, I hope this helps you or at least lets you know you made a difference in my life. If there’s an employee of week or month or year, please nominate him! At a minimum, Hopefully, there’s something in here that might be a quote worth sharing. PS thank you to kitchen staff for helping Edgar who offered to see if I could get a cheesecake plain with strawberries if possible (I didn’t want to be a hassle)….nailed it!!!
