We decided to visit this store as we were passing through from out of town. A frazzled middle-aged woman came over to serve us, and immediately demanded all of our ID’s, after only one of us had ordered a drink. She takes them to the back, and then returns and says if you aren’t over 21 just take your fake ID and go now. We look at her confused, as we are 23, 25, & 26. We tell her our ages, and that our ID’s are most certainly real. She replies “just wanted to give you guys a chance”. She leaves, and then returns with our ID’s after a while. she says that “the managers have decided these are fake and we are refusing to serve you”. Completely embarrassing, rude, and an insane thing to do. If they truly believed they were fake, they should have called the cops. Being less than an hour from the Wisconsin border, you’d think they know what a Wisconsin license looks like! Do NOT visit this hole.

horrible experience. do NOT bring your family. my family and i recently visited and some belligerent drunk began inappropriately touching my brother (who is disabled), screamed in his face and threatened to assault other patrons. when we told the owner what was going on, turns out the owner knows him and he’s a “regular” so not only did the owner not do anything about it, he continued to over-serve him and blamed my family for bringing a “kid” to the bar. my brother isn’t a “kid” he’s over 25 and carries an illinois ID everywhere he goes (he just looks younger because of his disability). harp and fiddle is not a disability friendly place and we will never be returning. Edit: My review is a factual account of our experience. If the police were called, it must have been long after we were forced to leave for our own safety. While we were there, the individual was permitted to stay despite asking patrons "who he should punch in the face" and repeatedly grabbing my brother’s hand after being told to stop. A "verbal warning" is an insufficient response when a guests are being threatened with violence. He didn't "disengage" because he continued to stare us down until we felt so uncomfortable we had no choice but to leave. Furthermore, the information regarding his status as a "regular" came directly from other patrons present. Inferring that I’m purposefully “misrepresenting” or lying about anything that happened that day is the only outrageous part here. Being "busy" for a holiday is never an excuse to compromise the safety of your guests—especially those in vulnerable positions. Your dismissal of our experience and the victim-blaming we encountered that day is exactly why we will not be returning.
