I am very saddened by the quality of the customer service from this Jerk-N-Go, in Olympia Fields, Illinois, in Cook County, Illinois. I remember when they first opened this place, I was one of the first customers, after they opened. I remember writing a review years ago, talking about how the chicken was ridiculously hot, to the point, where it destroyed your appetite. But then I gave them a second chance, and after the second chance everything was much better. Then after a couple years, they opened up another location in Homewood, Illinois, in Cook County, Illinois, not far from Halsted Street. That location was pretty decent. I would go there on a regular. Back then they had, different tiers of spiciness for their jerk sauce.
Unfortunately the location in Homewood, Illinois, in Cook County, Illinois, is now closed. This Olympia Fields, Illinois, in Cook County, Illinois, is the restaurant, open for business. I just drove past here, after an extensive stay, in Miami-Dade, County, Florida. Sadly there are no jerk chicken joints, to eat at, in South Florida. They are beyond oversaturated, with Cuban Cuisine. It had been a while, and I was very excited to come to Jerk-N-Go, after my workout. As a former, Front of House Server, I completely understand, at times you unexpectedly become busy. However, seems like this Jerk-N-Go is beyond overwhelmed with all their: DoorDash orders, walk in orders, call in orders, Numerous menu options. It appeared as if, they did not have enough, trained hands of staff available, to be able to handle, such a heavy of a load of orders. That is due to low quality business practices, and management being greedy, by prioritizing, Profits over Quality. When any business, emphasizes profits above quality, is when your business, rolls on a short timeline, that eventually succumbs, to a bitter end. By focusing on Quality over profits, there is absolutely nothing, that can take your business, out of business, unless you choose to retire it.
When I ordered my food, the order taker, informed me, it was a 25 minute wait. I was fine with that estimated time, but then it passed 30 minutes, then 35 minutes, and my order was still not called. This is a major problem, with a lot of Black American Commerce and Operations. I fully understand, they are busy, and probably very frustrated. That is why, Owners and Managemen, must also understand, that you must have the adequate staff available. That way you keep your cool, when you become weeded, when orders start coming in, like crazy. I asked the order taker, if Jerk-N-Go was hiring, because I would be willing to help. She abruptly said "NO", and disdainfully dismissed me. That awful display of lack of common decency, plus the lack of quality customer service, is why I am only giving this place, a two star. I would only give one star, but I did finally get my food, and it is actually pretty tasty.
I spoke too soon. I was in the restaurant when I made that, quote, unquote, "Tasty" statement. I had only nibbled on the Mac-N-Cheese and cabbage, then I left. Now, I am back in my Motel room, and I am realizing, how dry the chicken is. I ordered a Dark Chicken Dinner, for the specific reason, of not having to, gnaw and chomp, then horridly heave, that dry tasteless chicken. In addition, the same original issue, with the jerk sauce's capsaicin overhaul. It is not, that the jerk sauce itself, is too spicy, it is the fact that, the spicy sensation, lingers way too long, in my mouth. It takes a significant time period, for the piercing smoldering oral sensitivity to fade away, and by the time it finally does pass, your appetite is ruined thatand hot plate is cooled. Back to a 1 Star Rating for now.
