  I recently went to Jewel 3-30-26 for their cheap chicken Monday deal, and the experience was really disappointing. I showed up during what’s clearly a busy rush hour, (6:10pm) expecting things to be organized and ready, but they didn’t even have chicken prepared. For a promotion that likely draws a lot of customers, it felt completely unplanned. To make matters worse, there was a long line of people waiting, and right in the middle of it, one of the employees went on break. I understand that breaks are necessary, but allowing someone to leave when there’s already a backlog of customers doesn’t make sense. It only made the wait longer and more frustrating for everyone. The other employee who stayed behind didn’t seem to care much about the situation either. There was no sense of urgency or effort to manage the line or communicate with customers about the delay. Overall, the lack of preparation, poor timing with staff breaks, and indifferent service made this a pretty negative experience. I was really hoping for a quick and easy stop for a good deal, but instead it turned into a frustrating wait with little regard for customers’ time.

  Lately me and my son have gone to this location to check the Pokémon machine and it’s been unplugged or turned off. When I asked and called about it the assistant store manager stated she “turns it off herself and then turns it back on “ id what she stated on the phone call. My son was disappointed and discouraged to even come to this location anymore for his Pokémon hunting. From what I know that is tampering with a machine imagine if she tampers with the lotto machine? Isn’t that considered the same? I would request to speak with that assistant store manager to not tamper the machines. Thank you

  Poor customer service at the Jewel on Roosevelt in Oak Park. Janet was rude from the moment I walked up—eye‑rolling, sighing, and telling me there were people ahead of me when no one was actually in line. I waited over 30 minutes while she helped someone who wasn’t even at the counter but was standing nearby. When she finally helped me, she was impatient and had to redo my information for no clear reason. Very disappointing experience. I won’t be returning.
