Magic Pepper in Niles is a total gem, and their Kizhi Parotta is easily one of the best things I’ve eaten lately. The way it comes wrapped in the banana leaf really locks in all that amazing aroma and heat, so when you open it up, the parotta is perfectly soaked in that rich, spicy gravy and just melts in your mouth. We also tried the Tatte Idly, and the texture was spot on—so soft, fluffy, and massive compared to regular idlys, making it the ultimate comfort food for dipping into the sambar and chutneys. The whole place has such a relaxed, friendly vibe that makes you want to stay a while, and the service was just as good as the food, with everyone being super welcoming and fast. If you're looking for authentic flavors that actually pack a punch, this spot is a must-visit
The food was really good, everything fresh, hot and tasty. We tried different things from menu and it costed us $97. We had masala dosa, ghee roasted, idli, poori, filter coffee and gulab jamun. Gulab jamun was so fresh and hot served. They do have special unlimited dosa night on Wednesday and unlimited biryani on Tuesday.

We are foodies and appreciate good food from every part of the world.
We have several Fantastic Pakistani restaurants in Chicagoland but we were in search of good south Indian restaurant and we found one, Magic Pepper.
The food was fresh and delicious, service was amazing and ambiance is sparkling.
Courteous Radhika was our server.
Luckily they have halal option too, btw halal meat has all the blood drained out from animal and we know blood carries all the diseases thus halal meat is secure for humans health.

This restaurant is only good for pure South Indian food. Please don’t order anything other than that or you ll be disappointed. For example any Morton item : they don’t have good cuts taste is very bad. Chilli paneer : be careful it’s not same indo chinese that you are expecting, their chilli paneer is panner sautéd in green chilli sauce. Their hyderabadi biryani : they don’t use long grain rice for biryani, it shows their lack of commitment towards quality food. These people are not serious about taste. They have figured out that it’s nearby Patel brothers and Walmart so Indians will come and eat whatever they serve. This is a brutally honest review. I should have given even two star for their food quality and taste but giving it for diversity of menu, presentation( they are really good at it) plus ambiance and lighting which gives slightly positive environment.
We ordered Rava onion masala Dosa, Benne Dosa, chole bhature, veg Pakora, tea and coffee. All their Dosa are served with four chutneys and Sambar. Though the Rava Dosa was good, but Benne dosa was definitely better, it was crispy on one side and soft and full of ghee on the other! The chutneys were very tasty as well! If you order chole bhature, do not expect the north Indian style Chole but the ones that came here felt very homely and comforting, there was less oil in the bhatura as well, which we really liked! The Veg pakore were also delicious! And the mint Chutney that came with, it was too good! The only thing that did not work out for all of us were the teas and filter coffee! But overall very content with the food
