  Very nice clean store. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. We especially love the deli delights. The wing dings are a hit for Friday night dinner.

  The customer service I received just now was so unacceptable and felt a little racist. I was in self checkout & ask the employee for assistance & she said "I was talking to someone and you interrupted" the 2 people she was talking to were trying to Walk out of Jewel but recognized them, so basically chatting. The man saw me & pointed me out to her and she proceeded to say to them sorry. WTHeck lady you are working.what happened to customers 1st

  I’m writing this review to share an unpleasant experience I had at the customer service desk and the floral department at the Jewel-Osco on Ogden Avenue today. On October 29th, I tried to return six unused vases (total value $30) that I purchased on October 18th. The lady at the customer service counter was actually very kind and wanted to help me process the return. However, she explained that store policy states that “anything from the floral department must be returned within seven days.” The issue is that these were not flowers, they were vases—non-perishable, unused items. She said it was up to the floral department clerk to approve the return, so she called her over. The floral clerk said she could not accept it, again treating the vases as if they were fresh flowers. Because of that, I had to drive about 15 minutes to the Jewel-Osco on 95th Street in Naperville, where the customer service staff accepted the return immediately, no questions asked. While there, I also made a $100 grocery purchase—something I had planned to do at the Ogden Avenue store. This experience was disappointing because the Ogden Avenue Jewel-Osco is my local store, and my husband and I usually shop there regularly, spending well over $100 each visit. Unfortunately, due to this poor experience and lack of flexibility from the floral department, I’ve decided that from now on, I’ll make the short drive to the 95th Street Jewel-Osco, where the team is consistently friendly, professional, and helpful. This wasn’t my first unpleasant encounter with the floral department at the Ogden Avenue location. A while ago, I stopped by around 9 a.m. looking for white and blue hydrangeas. I noticed the floral clerk unpacking fresh boxes of flowers and politely asked if she had any. She told me she didn’t have blue but had white hydrangeas. When I said I could wait for her to finish unpacking, she opened a box, shoved it toward me, and said, “Just pick yourself.” I looked inside and didn’t see any white hydrangeas. She replied, “Oh yeah, I don’t have any.” The entire interaction felt dismissive and unpleasant. Overall, the customer service and floral department at the Ogden Avenue location need improvement. I appreciate the one lady at the customer service counter who tried to help, but the floral clerk’s attitude and the rigid policy lost this store a loyal customer. attaching pictures of the receipts as proof.

  I brought in balloons to be inflated on a Monday to be ready by 10 am on that Sunday for a child's birthday party. The balloons were organized in separate ziploc bags as to what balloons were to be grouped together. I stated this to the young woman at the counter multiple times and when I needed them: 10 am on Sunday, 10/5 which was on my receipt and confirmed by the employee. My husband went to pick up the balloons at 10 am on that Sunday (confirmed/written down day/time) and they were not even started or even thought about! My husband had to wait about 20 minutes for the balloons to be inflated and of course, the 2 women working there at the time, just grouped them into one large and one small bunch, nothing like I requested. And just a big mess of balloons with a few that were not inflated properly and/or lost air or popped. Yes, they got inflated, but my husband wasted valuable time and needed to get back home to prepare for this party which is why these balloons were requested to be inflated in advance. While he was waiting, he needed to get a large singular cupcake and again, the bakery did not have any so we had to get more than we needed.. We did have a 20% off coupon from a prescription offer so at least we didn't have to pay full price, but no offers from the store itself or the two employees working.The service and quality of this Jewel has gone down tremendously in the last 5 years. I was also going to order a cake from here, but could not get anyone in the bakery to wait on me and when I came back another day, the employee was very abrupt and confusing in what she was saying so I just bought a cake from Sam's Club instead which was bigger, cheaper and very good. As other reviewers posted, I have unintentionally bought expired food here also and didn't know until I went to use it. There are many other higher quality grocery stores in the area to choose from instead of this Jewel so avoid.
